🚩♀️❤️‍🔥 We had a wonderful time discussing the past and present of socialist feminism at our open event this week, and making some excellent (and some interesting) badges🚩♀️❤️‍🔥

As a Marxist and feminist organisation, it is important to us that lessons from the history of our movement are maintained, adapted and applied in struggle today ✊️

Thanks to all who came and we look forward to seeing you at future rs21 events!

What to expect from our event on Monday October 19th

♀️ SEEING RED: THE SOCIALIST FEMINIST PAST AND PRESENT ♀️

Tickets still available here: https://www.outsavvy.com/event/39813/seeing-red-the-socialist-feminist-past-and-present

Sign up before it's too late!

PhD researcher, Amy Todd, will take us through her research on socialist feminist politics as seen through print culture and magazines.

We’ll get a broad overview of the history of socialist feminist organising in the UK and look at how this coincides with a rise in print publications as spaces to develop political consciousness.

We’ll explore the ‘potted history’ of British socialist feminists and explore what we can learn from them today.

We’ll have group discussions and get hands-on with badge making!

♀️ SEEING RED: THE SOCIALIST FEMINIST PAST AND PRESENT ♀️

Our next public event will be a workshop with the historian Amy Todd and Greater Manchester rs21’s Women and Non-Binary Caucus about Red Rag: A Magazine of Women's Liberation, a 1970s socialist publication.

📛 As well as discussion on what lessons we can apply today from 20th century socialist feminism, we will have a badge making workshop 📛

📕 Join Greater Manchester rs21 and Partisan Collective on 7th September at 7pm for the book launch of The Breaking of the English Working Class by Jonas Patrick Marvin 🇵🇸 with Verso Books and Salvage 📕

Blending political analysis with an account of his own experiences of class in London and the rustbelt Midlands, the book shows how the working class have been demonised and managed into impotence.

The working class is more than just an identity. As Marvin argues, it embodies a collective will to demand change, one that can, and must, be rekindled.

🏭 Venue details 🏭:
7th September, 7pm, Canalside Room, Bridge 5 Mill M4 7HR

The venue normally has step-free access but there are currently issues with the lift which will hopefully resolved before the talk. We will provide an update in advance of the event. Please contact us with any access questions!

On 18 April 2026 hundreds of antifascists opposed Britain First’s national demonstration in Manchester.

Police consistently used disproportionate and unnecessary force against antifascist protesters on the day, deploying PAVA spray and injuring at least 150 antifascists.

Support this appeal towards legal and other costs facing a trade unionist who was arrested on the day and is not eligible for legal aid. We cannot allow the state to deter antifascist protesters in this way.

Please give what you can and share widely.

At , we called for solidarity between the trans liberation and anti-imperialist movements.

Both face demonisation and repression by the state, both see life devalued by the same reactionary forces.

Fight for trans life – fight for Palestinian life!
