Tuesday 17 February, 2 - 3pm we have the lovely artist Laurie Pink in the library, creating colourful banners in celebration of LGBT History Month. free activity for children and families. places are limited, first come, first serve.

Saturday 21 February we're celebrating International Mother Language Day at an earlier time than we would usually - 12 - 2pm. So you've plenty of time to come and enjoy the celebration before heading home to prepare for breaking fasts. Look forward to seeing everyone!

We've got some great free Holiday Acitivities for children and young people aged 10 - 16 yrs. We kick off with A Minecraft Movie on Tuesday 23 Dec. We'll have popcorn! A pizza lunch and a minecraft inspired craft! Then on the following Tues 30 Dec we'll be getting creative with local Artists Nadia and Rizwana followed by lunch and Bhangra dancing with Amandeep!

The most awesome poet Ruth Awolola from Peoplescape Theatre is joining our Fun Palace tomorrow to make poetry with you:

Imagine the world of a Giant! What might plants or animals might grown in the giant's garden? What treasures are locked up safe? And what is being celebrated?

We'll be sharing your magical ideas through poetry, drama and drawing.

Black History Month at Longsight Library! Fantastic display put together by our staff, pop in and have a look.
We will also be having artist Joseph Avayoro from Creative Hands Foundation running a fantastic activity at our Fun Palace on Sat 4 October, 2 - 4pm.
So come and join us for a fantastic session that he'll be running making paper sculptures in traditional African dress.

This Saturday, singing specialist Alice Needham from Olympias Music Foundation will be leading fun-filled singing workshops for primary school-aged children at our Fun Palaces! Alice also directs Olympias Music Foundation’s 'Children’s Voices' choir here at Longsight Library on Mondays, 4:30–5:30pm, which is completely free to attend — new members welcome!

We've had a great first week Of Holiday Activities for 10 - 16 year olds. We created an indoor garden (check it out in the children's Library) with artist Emma Martin & then brilliant CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) who taught us lots of forensics techniques.
