I am incredibly proud to announce that today I have officially delivered my nomination papers to Manchester City Council! I will be standing as your Independent Candidate for Higher Blackley in the local elections on Thursday 7th May - exactly one month today!

Hello,

My name is Dean Luke Booth and I am an Independent Candidate for Higher Blackley in the upcoming local election which will take place on the 7th May. A local election is simply an opportunity to choose the best candidate to represent your community and has little impact on central government. As an Independent I am not told how to vote by any political party so my focus will remain solely on improving Higher Blackley, supporting our community, acting on your behalf and fighting for the things that matter to you.

I have been a Higher Blackley resident my entire life so I am well aware of the issues we face.

My Priorities

👮 To work with our local policing team to reduce crime and ensure Higher Blackley is a safe & enjoyable place to live and work.

🍃 To ensure environmental issues are dealt with promptly, whilst protecting our parks & green spaces.

🫁 To promote health & wellbeing in Higher Blackley through addiction dependency programs & community outreach projects.

🗣️ To communicate with residents on a regular basis to ensure they are aware of decisions, events and support available to them.

👂 To listen and act upon the needs of residents, community groups and businesses in Higher Blackley.

🚌 Fighting for much needed additional bus routes to help residents get to appointments, supermarkets like Aldi or the gym.

⚽️ Utilise community buildings in Higher Blackley to support the community and our children.
