Portico Poetry Prize

A new poetry award, The Portico Poetry Prize commenced in 2012 and was a huge success. It plans to run every year in two categories: Under 18s and Over 16s.

In 2012 the Portico Library founded a bi-category poetry prize, asking for poems linked to the work or life of Charles Dickens in order to celebrate the author's bicentenary. The response was very encouraging and the library plans to run the prize annually, with a different theme for every year.
