📢 The Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund is now open! 🌳
That's right - the fund that's already enabled 122 community groups to improve 400,000m2 of green space across the city region has re-opened for 2026.
Want to create a community garden? Green up an urban alleyway? Restore an allotment to its former glory?
You can apply for grants between £2,000 - £40,000 if you're a Greater Manchester-based community group with plans to increase the amount of accessible, nature-rich green space where people need it most.
Visit https://gmet.org.uk/green-spaces-fund for more information and to apply. Deadline 3rd August 2026.

☀️ The sun has shown up just in time for the first day of our Great Garden Game-a-thon at RHS Garden Bridgewater, and it’s the perfect excuse to get outside this weekend!
Bring the family (or round up some friends) and spend the day enjoying giant garden games scattered across the garden, from chess and Jenga to Connect Four, noughts & crosses and more. There’s plenty of space to roll out a picnic, relax on the lawns, or even lose yourself in the meadow maze for a little extra adventure.
If you’re planning a visit on Bank Holiday Monday, make sure you stop by the east lawn where will be getting everyone involved with plate spinning, diablo, hula hooping and juggling.
With activities running every day until 31 May, there’s lots to explore all week long. Under 5s go free and tickets for ages 5–16 are just £6, so it’s a great day out for everyone.
