Today marks 9 years since the horrific Manchester Arena terrorist bombings that killed 22 people.
Today also marks the anniversary of the appalling murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in a terrorist attack in 2013, on the streets of London.
Both tragic and shocking events, should always be remembered. ๐โค๏ธ

Firstly, congratulations to Cllr John Leech on his re-election.
This was the first time Iโve stood for election, and itโs been a privilege to have done so with Manchester Labour next to my name. I hope it wonโt be the last. ๐น
I am deeply disappointed and hurt by the results in Manchester yesterday. However, the electorate are never wrong, and Iโm grateful to every one of the 1,220 residents who did vote for me in Didsbury West.
I promised myself at the outset that I wouldnโt make a pledge I couldnโt deliver and would not say a word I did not believe, to chase a vote - promise kept.
To Dave - my election agent, Kathy, Godfrey, Tim OBrien, Councillor Debbie Hilal and to all of the members, friends, and volunteers who campaigned with and for me from last July until 9pm on Thursday night - thank you so much, you are the very best of the party.
Nowโฆโฆโฆto spend some more time with my family.

Iโve run a positive campaign from when I was first selected to be the candidate last Summer until now. No talking the place down, no empty promises.
Please use your vote. Manchester Labour is about an optimistic tomorrow - for you, your family, community and the city.
