Day 7 - Open Water

Open water, such as the sea, can be great fun β€” but it can also be extremely dangerous. 🌊

According to the RLSS, more than 1,600 people have accidentally drowned in the UK and Ireland over the past five years.

Before entering the water:

βœ”οΈ Check for warning signs
βœ”οΈ Only swim in designated areas
βœ”οΈ Wear appropriate swimwear and safety equipment
βœ”οΈ Always let someone know where you’re going

Enjoy the water safely this summer! β˜€οΈ

Day 6 - First Aid
All of our staff are first aid qualified and have 2 hours training each month which covers first aid and CPR. We also have defibrillators in all of our centres.

Having access to a defib with 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest can increase survival rates by 50-70%. (British Heart Foundation)

Day 5 - Train more teachers

There is a national shortage of swimming teachers and we want to help change that. It was reported that around 660,000 children across the UK could be missing out on swimming lessons due to staff shortages.

Do you have what it takes to teach the next generation of swimmers?
