Leader, County Councillor Mick Barton outside County Hall this afternoon, reflecting on his busy week.

Congratulations to new Councillor Nancy Wright, who won the by election in Worksop last night, I am sure she will do an amazing job.

The budget, well, least said about that the better. Enjoy your 40p a week saving on your shopping. To say Labour do not have a clue is being generous.

This weeks LGR result is a welcome one. Thanks to pressure from Reform the JR has made the government halt the process, rethink their decision and hopefully make the correct choice for residents.

Finally, Come on you Stags for tomorrow's game and a very happy Halloween weekend to you all.

County Council leader Mick Barton met the minister this morning about Local Government reorganisation.
The governments now withdrawn the decision they made in June.
Mick and his colleagues put a judicial review into the Government and it's obviously worked !
Well done Mick and your team for doing what's right for the residents of Nottinghamshire.
This is a great Victory for what is right .

Leader, County Councillor Mick Barton is in Southwell this evening on Station/Normanton Road.

The road has all been prepared ready for tonight’s tarmac to be laid. It will open again in the next few days . There is lots of work to do on the roads in Southwell, which will be carried out over the next weeks and months.

Huge thanks to Robert Jenrick MP for reporting the roads to us and for all his support.

This is the Reform way.

Burnham's officially spent 100 days in office. So what's he achieved so far?

He reached £3 trillion in debt.

He got diesel to £2 a litre.

He released 1,350 dangerous prisoners onto our streets.

He let over 8,400 illegal migrants into Britain.

He surged inflation to 3.5%.

He betrayed Brexit and opened the door to free movement.

His Home Secretary's ILR reforms have been totally sidelined.

He decided to dump thousands of illegal migrants into small villages like Piddington.

He's cut £2 billion from frontline Army equipment and £800,000 from military housing.

He's failed to deport Shabir Ahmed, the Rochdale r**e gang ringleader.

He made British borrowing costs higher than they've been in 28 years.

Burnham hasn't “brought back hope”. He’s plunged us deeper into third world decline.

Only Reform will take the radical change needed to turn this country around.

The government is going to announce that they will FREEZE fuel duty tomorrow!!!
Really ??
They take 52.95p per litre on Diesel and Petrol , PLUS VAT 20%.
And they think by freezing it they are helping !!!
They should be reducing it .!!!
8 months ago Diesel was around 1.39p and 141 p
It's now over £2.00 in most areas .
That means the Government's raked in over £19.44 BILLION pounds in fuel duty in the last 8 months alone .!
You could not make this up, yet the Labour government thinks it's ok ??
They are laughing at us all .
Things need to change .
People and businesses need help .

We had a lovely evening in Nottingham for a first festival of remembrance organised by Nottinghamshires Royal British legion.
An absolutely packed three hours with some very talented musicians and local stars including a children's choir .
A memorable evening, hopefully the first of many.
Well done to everyone involved.
We will remember them .🇬🇧❤️

Leader, County Councillor Mick Barton and County Councillor Bert Bingham, Cabinet Member for the Highways and the Environment, were out in Blidworth today to view another technique for fixing the roads.

Another environmentally friendly and cost-effective method employed from our toolbox. The old surface is planed (or milled) and, rather than taken off site with new aggregate having to be imported, it is pulverised and mixed with a very small amount of binder, levelled and compacted to form the base for the new road surface. This will set within 2 hours or so and then the new asphalt surface can be laid on top of it. Hey presto, a brand new road completed with less disruption and in less time than using traditional methods.
