Mansfield North Neighbourhood Policing Team have been hard at work in tackling the ongoing issue of illegal motorcycles.
Over the past week a number of illegal motorcycles have been seized following proactive patrols, these motorcycles and their riders pose a serious risk to public safety and as a team we are commited to removing them from the roadways.
The riders were commiting a number of offences such as driving without insurance, without a license, due care offences, mobile phone offences and the green bike specifically had been involved in a number of fail to stop incidents over the past 6 months.
If you have any information in relation to the use of illegal motorcycles you can contact us via 101, the Nottinghamshire Police Website, or Crimestoppers, particularly useful information is where illegal motorcycles are being stored or where they are coming and going from.

A post-mortem is due be carried out in order to investigate the cause of death after human remains were found in woodland near Mansfield.
Members of the public found the remains in a wooded area next to the A617 Rainworth Bypass around 2.45pm on 23 May.
Specialist archaeologists, anthropologists, detectives, and our search teams have been at the site since the discovery was made.
The work of the archaeologists and anthropologists has now concluded at the scene and the human remains have been recovered from the site.
The cordon will remain in place whilst the post-mortem takes place, but we anticipate it will be lifted over the coming days.
DNA analysis of the remains will then occur, which will allow us to formally identify the person.
The results of this are not expected until next week at the earliest.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson said: “Now we have recovered the human remains, the investigation will progress into the post-mortem stage.
“There will be a number of experts involved in this process again as we work hard to formally identify the person and also establish the circumstances surrounding their death.
"DNA analysis will then take place, which gives us the ability to accurately and objectively confirm the identity of the remains.
“Due to the complexity of these next steps in the investigation, this process will take us some time.
"But the public can be assured we are doing everything possible to progress this investigation thoroughly.
"The family of the person we believe this to be have been kept informed of this process and continue to be supported by our officers.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience and reassure them that we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public.
“As always, we will continue to provide updates when we have them.”

An off-duty police officer helped to apprehend two suspected shoplifters after stopping to refuel his car.
The officer was on the forecourt of Tesco Express on Nottingham Road, Mansfield, when he saw two people running out with laundry products at around 11.45am on Wednesday 27 May.
After checking in with staff and paying for his fuel, the officer drove towards the town centre, soon catching sight of both suspects and calling for back-up.
He then chased the suspects across Fisher Park, where he was able to detain them with the help of uniformed colleagues.
Two men, aged 40 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of theft.
Inspector Katie Eustace, district commander for Mansfield, said: "This was a great bit of work by an off-duty officer who didn’t think twice before putting himself in harm’s way.
"Tackling shoplifting is a priority in Mansfield, so anyone committing offences can expect to come face-to-face with a police officer – even when they aren’t at work."

We’re currently seeing an increase in calls about general noise, such as loud music, garden gatherings, or neighbour disturbances. While we understand these situations can be frustrating, many noise concerns are not police matters and are usually best dealt with by your local council.
Your local council’s environmental health team has the powers to assess and take action where needed.
There are some circumstances where police involvement may be necessary, such as if noise is linked to anti-social behaviour in a public place, or if there is evidence of crime or an immediate risk to safety.
By contacting the right service first, you can help ensure your issue is resolved more quickly and keep the 101 and 999 lines free for those who need them most.
👉 For more information on nuisance noise and what to do, visit: https://orlo.uk/Ru81u
🔎 Find your local council page here: https://orlo.uk/hvQj2
📞 Always call 999 in an emergency, where there is a threat to life or crime in progress.
Thank you for your understanding.

We are continuing to investigate following the discovery of human skeletal remains near Mansfield.
Members of the public found the remains in a wooded area next to the A617 Rainworth Bypass around 2.45pm on Saturday (23 May 2026).
An investigation was launched following the report and we believe the remains are that of one person.
A team of detectives have been working hard over the bank holiday weekend to establish the circumstances of how the bones came to be there.
Specialist archaeologists are on the scene today (Tuesday 26 May) to gather crucial evidence.
Our officers are also pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to formally identify the person.
A cordon next to the scene is expected to remain in place for some time while this work continues.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson said: "This discovery of human remains is being treated with the upmost seriousness, and a thorough investigation is being carried out.
"After the initial discovery on Saturday, officers have been working round the clock to establish the circumstances of who the remains belong to, and how they came to be at this location.
"I can confirm that we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, and there is no wider risk to the public.
"Whilst the identity of this person is yet to be formally established, the public can be assured that a dedicated team are working to confirm this as soon as possible.
"I would like to stress, though, that this process may take us some time yet and a scene will remain in place for a number of days while our work continues.
"Whilst the investigation progresses, I'd like to thank the members of the public for their patience and assistance.
"We hope to be in a position to provide further information as the inquiry progresses and in the meantime, I'd ask the public not to speculate.
“We will continue to provide updates when we have them.”
