Blidworth Fire Station attended this incident this morning , the appliance has returned to station and now available for further incidents if needed. 🚒
We’re currently in attendance at a large fire on Peck Lane, Gunthorpe.
There is a large emergency service presence in the area with limited road space - members of the public are asked to avoid the area whilst we do our work.
If you can see or smell smoke then make sure your windows and doors are closed - the smoke plume is travelling fast due to high winds 💨

We’re incredibly proud to say that out of the 11 new starters at our training centre, three are heading to Blidworth 🚒
A fantastic achievement and a great moment for the station.
I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing all of them the very best as they begin their journey, before long, these will be the people standing between our community and the bad days, protecting Blidworth and the surrounding areas.
Welcome to the Blidworth family. 👏🔥
On Monday we welcomed 1️⃣1️⃣ new recruits, who will be spending the next few weeks training to become our next on-call firefighters. We wish them all the luck in the world 🌟

Did you know that you can recycle household batteries alongside your domestic bin collections? 🔋
Place household batteries in a plastic bag and leave the bag on top of any of your wheelie bins on collection day.
Our collection teams will take the bag of batteries to be recycled.
Alternatively, many shops offer a battery recycling collection point in store. Check for your nearest one here 👉 https://www.recyclenow.com/recycle-an-item

🔥 Tonight at the fire station we carried out some breathing apparatus training. Using blackout covers to simulate smoke, our BA crews were challenged to move through a large structure with zero visibility. This type of training builds confidence, sharpens communication, and prepares us for real-life incidents where conditions can be unpredictable and dangerous.
“Zero visibility. 100% teamwork. 🚒🔥”
• “Training hard so we’re ready when it matters most.”
• “Simulating smoke with blackout covers — BA crew in action 👨🚒👩🚒”
• “Trust your crew, trust your training.
👉 A good reminder for everyone at home: make sure you test your smoke alarms regularly. They save lives.
