📢 **HOT OFF THE PRESS – MARKFIELD POST OFFICE UPDATE!**

Some really positive news to share with residents!

I’m pleased to report that the insurance sign-off for the Markfield Post Office shop is expected this week. The work contracts have been signed, and everything is ready for work to get underway.

The tenants have told me they are hopeful the shop will be open before Christmas. 🤞

Unfortunately, the Post Office won’t be providing an outreach service in the meantime, as they are aware of this latest news and feel there would be little point given the anticipated reopening.

It’s been a long, frustrating and stressful journey for everyone involved, especially the local community who have been without this important service for far too long.

Let’s hope this is finally the breakthrough we’ve all been waiting for and that we’ll soon see those doors open again! 🤞

I’ll keep residents updated as things progress.

Bell is just 14 years old and has been diagnosed with a rare and devastating form of brain cancer called Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG).

Since her diagnosis Annabel has undergone multiple brain operations, faced serious complications and completed 30 rounds of radiotherapy.
Bell and her family have been through an unimaginable amount and we’re hoping to raise some money to help support them through this incredibly difficult time and make some special memories together. 💜

🌺 Poppies Available at the Parish Council Office

Poppies are now available from Markfield Parish Council Office in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

We invite residents to pop into the office during our opening hours, Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm, to collect a poppy and make a donation to support the appeal ❤️
