🚨 “OUR POOL’S LEAKING!” 🚨💦

Another pool leak investigation for Poolgenix Ltd, this time in Essex.

The client had repaired some pipework themselves during the summer, but the pool was still losing water.

We attended and carried out a pressure test of all the pool pipework as good practice before moving on to a dye test.

✅ Pipework tested — holding pressure perfectly.

We then moved onto the dye test around the pool.

On arrival, we had spotted a crack running top to bottom through the grout, so this was one of the first areas we investigated.

And sure enough… 👀💦

The dye was being drawn straight into the crack!

🎯 Leak located!

As a temporary repair, we sealed the crack and carried out another dye test.

No more dye being drawn in — leak stopped! ✅

We’ve advised the client that, for a proper long-term repair, a section of tiles will need to be removed to expose the pool shell and allow the affected area to be repaired correctly.

Another filtration upgrade completed by Poolgenix Ltd! 💦🔧

This pool was suffering from sand returning back into the pool, with the main issue traced to broken laterals inside the filter.

Due to the age of the existing filter, along with a faulty multiport valve, we recommended a like-for-like filter replacement to provide a reliable long-term solution.

We also recommended upgrading from traditional sand to AFM filter media. AFM provides excellent filtration performance and is particularly effective at trapping fine particles and biofilm, helping to maintain cleaner, clearer pool water.

The installation included:

✅ New filter
✅ New multiport valve
✅ AFM filter media
✅ Adapted and upgraded pipework
✅ Full testing and commissioning
✅ System handed back fully operational

Another filtration system brought back up to standard and ready for the future. 👌🏻

🚨 COMMERCIAL SPA BACK UP AND RUNNING! 🚨

Another rapid response from Poolgenix Ltd to get a commercial spa facility back open for its members. 💦

🔧 Multiport valve replacement
The existing multiport valve body had split, so we removed and replaced the multiport before thoroughly testing the system to ensure everything was operating correctly.

⚡ Circulation pump replacement
The spa circulation pump motor had developed a fault and was repeatedly tripping the electrics. We replaced the faulty pump, tested the circulation system and got everything back up and running.

⏱️ From initial call to completed repair — this was turned around quickly.

For commercial leisure facilities, downtime means disruption for members and staff. That’s why a fast response and getting the facility operational again is so important.

Another successful Poolgenix commercial service call-out completed. 👌🏻

🤦‍♂️🤮 FIBRE FILTER BALLS… REALLY?!

Another day, another interesting discovery in the world of swimming pools! 😂

A new client contacted Poolgenix Ltd after experiencing ongoing filtration issues.

Upon inspection of the filter, we opened it up and discovered… FIBRE FILTER BALLS! 🤦‍♂️😂

Now, fibre balls may provide filtration for a period of time, but there’s one major problem…

YOU CAN’T BACKWASH THEM! 🤯

And before anyone blames the client — these came with the pool installation package and the filter was even labelled with a backwashing procedure. So, understandably, he wouldn’t have known any different.

The reality is, fibre balls simply aren’t practical for a conventional backwashing filter.

To clean them properly, you need to remove them from the filter and rinse them out — or apparently throw them in the washing machine! 😂🤦‍♂️

Not exactly ideal when you want your pool maintenance to be quick, effective and hassle-free.

So… OUT THEY CAME! 🗑️

We removed the fibre balls and replaced them with high-quality AFM filter media, giving the client the ability to carry out an effective backwash and properly maintain the filtration system.

💦 Better filtration
💦 Effective backwashing
💦 Easier maintenance
💦 Crystal-clear water

Sometimes you really do wonder what we’re going to find when we open up a filter! 🤦‍♂️😂

🔧 NEW CLIENT | PUMP INSTALLATION ISSUE 🤦‍♂️

A new client contacted Poolgenix Ltd after purchasing a replacement circulation pump… only to discover it didn’t fit the existing pipework! 🤦‍♂️

With a few key details taken from the client beforehand, we were able to identify exactly what was needed and, luckily, had the required parts already in stock.

This meant we could provide a fast and responsive repair, adapting the existing pipework and getting the new pump installed and ready to get the pool circulating again. 💦

We also cut back and reinstated the wiring correctly before testing the installation to make sure everything was operating as it should. ✅

Another problem solved and another pool back up and running! 👌🏻
