Our support for Ukraine remains steadfast and unwavering.
Wishing all the very best to John Lawson as he prepares for another critical humanitarian trip. John is once again sourcing vehicles locally here in Yorkshire to be driven out packed with vital aid, funding that will go directly toward essential generators, medical equipment, and warm clothing.
Having made the journey myself two years ago, I've seen firsthand the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the profound difference that continued, tangible support makes on the ground. Knowing what these missions mean, John’s ongoing dedication is truly inspiring.

Lovely afternoon with friends and supporters. It seems a long time since May. Due to busy lives this was the first opportunity that the team had to thank everyone for their help in the election. Great timing that we could also celebrate the recent win in .

Really vital we stand united against all forms of discrimination.

United Against Islamophobia; Standing Together for Kirklees 🤝✨

I have written to Mohammed Abubakar, Secretary of the Huddersfield Council of Mosques, to offer my full, unequivocal condemnation of the appalling Islamophobic vandalism at Almondbury Cemetery and the recent hate speech targeting a local mosque.

The supplication sign at the cemetery was a thoughtful, donated addition designed to bring peace and comfort to grieving families. To see it targeted in this way is deeply upsetting.

Hatred, racism, and religious discrimination have no place in Kirklees. I, along with Kirklees Liberal Democrats, fully support the swift repair and reinstatement of the sign, and I stand ready to join other party leaders at the cemetery to show a united, cross party stance against anti-Muslim hatred.

We must stand together to ensure Kirklees is a safe, respectful, and welcoming place for everyone. 💙
