Yet, somehow, people will happily accept that giant corporations have strict policies, but the second it’s an independent play café, expectations change. 🫠

Running a small business means every single slot is meticulously planned, capped for safety, and relies on that space being used. When plans change last minute, we totally get it—life happens (especially with kids!). But expecting a small, independent venue to absorb the cost of a missed session while the massive airline or ticketing giant gets a free pass? Make it make sense! 🤷‍♀️

Thank you to everyone in our community who respects our policies, supports independent businesses, and treats us with grace. You guys are the absolute world. ✨☕

🚨 Our school holiday opening hours are slightly different this time!

26th Witch's Visit is almost full now with only a few baby spaces remaining.

Small business ownership: 10% pure inspiration, 20% figuring out why the espresso machine is glaring at you, and 70% convincing yourself that paperwork counts as a workout.

But then you look around at this community and realize... yeah, we wouldn't change a thing. ✨🤎

Yes, I truly believe that this specific wooden cheese deserves a post of its own 😂🤘🏼

I mean,look at it!

Well done, 🥳
Also perhaps next Wooden Toy Event cap people to buy like 6 items tops instead of LOADING trolleys to resell on Vinted and Marketplace at triple the price 🫠

“Would you like to make that a large?”

No thanks, I don’t want 400ml of steamed milk with a ghost of espresso lingering at the bottom. 👻☕️
If I wanted to drink nearly a pint of milk in one sitting, I’d eat cereal.

Honestly, what is a large latte? Is it 2 shots with double the milk too so ~1 pint sized drink? Is it still just 1 shot but with doubled milk? Aaaaaaagh!

And that explains why we serve singles or doubles and not different volume drinks here 😂

What is an invitation to play in the early years?🧐

It's the provision of materials set up to encourage and invite children to play in their own non-directed way.

It is important to remember that although we are providing materials with a specific invitation or learning intention, the play, learning and children’s interest may develop in a different direction and that's a GOOD thing.

Here are a couple of examples of what it could (but doesn't have to) look like.
