This long hot and very dry summer has turned our countryside into a tinderbox.
The tiniest spark or ember can literally be the starting point for a huge wildfire. Whether that is a forest campfire, a dropped cigarette in a park, or a bbq in your back garden.
It is happening all across the UK let alone the world. Firefighters from all countries are working non stop to not only stop these fires from spreading, but we would much prefer if they didn't start in the first place. That is how you can help us.

Please spread awareness...

NO OPEN FIRES
NO BBQS
DONT THROW CI******ES ONTO THE FLOOR
NO LITTERING

Thank you

We're asking everyone to help reduce the risk of accidental fires during this spell of hot, dry weather.🌞

‼ Fires can spread quickly and put lives, homes, wildlife and open spaces at risk. Please avoid lighting fires and take extra care when enjoying the outdoors.

Do you live within 5 minutes of your local Fire station? Ever fancied being an on-call Firefighter? 👨🏻‍🚒👩🏻‍🚒

This Saturday we are holding an Open day at our own station in Much Wenlock 🚒

Some of our crew will be here to talk about what it takes to be a firefighter, the training involved, show the equipment we use, and answer any questions that you may have...
'How many hours do I need to be on-call a week?
What weekly commitments will there be?
Is there a shift pattern?'

All will be answered 😊

From 9am til 10am we have a Women's only session.
Then from 10am til 1pm we will be there for anyone who is interested.

Come and say hello 👋🏻

Moonset to Sunset.

Much Wenlocks crew were alerted at 3:55am to a vehicle fire this morning. Crews found an abandoned van fully involved in fire and used two hose reel jets to extinguish.

Tonight during our drill session we practiced a variety of ladder pitches using our appliances numerous ladders. Pictured is a 9 meter ladder confined pitch, over an obstruction to then deploy a roof ladder on to the drill tower.

Much Wenlocks crew have just returned from the tanker fire in Newdale Telford which you may have seen via social media.

Due to the nature of the incident foam was in use to bring the fire under control.

As you can see we saw a lot of smoke issuing from the incident on route, so local residents were advised to keep all windows closed.

The fire is now out but people are advised to avoid the area.

Many thanks to all crews involved, also Police, Ambulance and Staffordshire Fire service for their assistance.
