🌟 Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun #162 🌟

🍂 Hello November! A lovely start to a new month at Golden Valley, with plenty of smiles, speedy feet and fantastic achievements!

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 30 junior parkrunners completed our 2km course this morning, supported by an amazing team of 22 volunteers. Thank you all!

🏆 Our speedy finishers!

A big well done to Stanley, our first finisher in 8:32, closely followed by Alfred in 8:48 and Felix in 8:51.

Daisy led the girls home in 10:18, followed by Bella in 11:37 and Millie in 11:45. Brilliant running everyone!

We also had some impressive experience on the course today, with Stanley and Alfred already past 100 and 150 junior parkruns respectively! What brilliant dedication.

🎃 Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun – Event #161 🍂

The clocks have gone back, Halloween is just around the corner, and our junior parkrunners were out making the most of their extra hour in bed!

This morning, 26 brilliant juniors completed our 2K course, supported by 21 fantastic volunteers. Whether running, jogging, walking or a bit of everything, it was another lovely Sunday morning at Golden Valley.

🏃 A few highlights from today:

🥇 Alfred led the field home in a speedy 9:14, with Daisy our first female finisher in 9:22. Brilliant running from both!

🚀 Five new personal bests! Huge congratulations to James, Douglas, Orla, Ruby and Seb. All that hard work is paying off!

👋 Four first-timers! A very warm welcome to Barney, Ezekiel, Leander and Grace. We hope you enjoyed your morning and will be back again soon.

👏 Milestone magic! A special mention to Mabel P, who completed her 50th junior parkrun today — an incredible 100 kilometres of junior parkrunning!

💜 Our volunteer heroes

A massive thank you to our 21 volunteers, led by Run Director Rachel. From setting up the course and leading the warm-up to cheering from the marshal points, timing, scanning and packing everything away, you make the magic happen every Sunday.

We’d love to welcome some new faces to our volunteer team. No experience needed, and we promise it’s just as rewarding as crossing the finish line!

🍂☀️ What a beautiful autumn morning for Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun #160!

Lovely sunshine welcomed 41 juniors who ran, jogged and walked their way around the course today. Well done to every one of you!

👋 A warm welcome to our first timers, Douglas M, Bella N and Mila Q. Bella and Mila completed their very first junior parkrun — we hope you all enjoyed yourselves and will be back soon!

🌟 Congratulations to Felix B, Jacob G, Oscar L and Molly G on their new personal bests. Brilliant efforts!

👏 Our first boy home was Stanley K in 8:38, and our first girl was Orla H in 12:18. Well done both!

💛 A huge thank you to our 19 wonderful volunteers for making this morning possible, and to all the families cheering everyone on. If you fancy lending a hand at a future event, please get in touch — we’re always happy to welcome volunteers.

🌳🏃‍♀️ Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun — Event #159! 🏃‍♂️

This morning we welcomed 36 brilliant juniors across our finish line, supported by 25 amazing volunteers. 💚

🌟 A few highlights from today:

🎉 8 fantastic new PBs! Huge congratulations to James, Luke, Albie, George, Thomas, Charles, Amelie and Alex. All that hard work is paying off!

👋 A very warm welcome to Cara, who completed her very first junior parkrun today! We hope it’s the first of many Sunday mornings with us.

🏅 We also had plenty of experienced junior parkrunners out on the course, including some who have completed more than 50 or even 100 junior parkruns. What wonderful commitment!

👏 And of course, a massive well done to every single one of our 36 finishers. Whether you sprinted, jogged, walked, skipped or took your time, you completed 2km and that’s something to celebrate!

Our wonderful volunteers make Sunday mornings possible. Special thanks everyone who helped with the warm-up, marshalling, timing, scanning, welcoming and cheering.

☀️ Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun #158 ☀️

What a lovely sunny autumn morning for junior parkrun — and an extra special weekend too, as parkrun celebrated its 22nd anniversary! 🎂🎉💚

From just 13 runners at the very first Bushy Park Time Trial in October 2004, to the huge worldwide parkrun family we’re part of today — what a brilliant thing to celebrate! 🌍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

And here at Golden Valley, 38 brilliant juniors joined us for their Sunday morning 2k. ☀️🍂

🎉 A whopping 10 juniors achieved new PBs today — huge congratulations to Felix, Efan, Étienne, Albie, Millie, Benjamin, William, Teddy, Jessica and Ronnie! ⭐👏

👋 A very warm welcome to Hattie and Charles, who completed their very first parkrun ever today. We hope it’s the first of many! 💚

We also welcomed Barnaby, Evie and Harry to Golden Valley for the first time — we hope you enjoyed our course and come back to see us again soon. 😊

🏅 We had two milestones to celebrate too:

💙 James reached an amazing 50 junior parkruns — ULTRA MARATHON!
💛 Barnaby reached 10 junior parkruns — as well as making his first visit to Golden Valley!

Fantastic achievements — well done both! 🎉👏

And, as ever, none of it happens without our wonderful volunteers. A huge THANK YOU to all 24 of you who gave up your Sunday morning to make sure our juniors could run, walk, skip and smile their way around the course. 🦺👏💚

Golden Valley Playing Field junior parkrun #157

We had 51 junior parkrunners joining us today!

There was plenty to celebrate at our morning briefing. We gave a big round of applause to Liz and Mike Shepperd, who have both recently reached the fantastic milestone of 250 volunteer credits. We celebrated Liz last week, but couldn’t let Mike’s achievement pass without recognition too. An enormous thank you to both of them for everything they have contributed to parkrun over the years. 💜

We also had some junior milestones to celebrate, and handed out a 10-run milestone wristband and a 50-run milestone wristband. Well done! 🎉

Out on the course, it was a speedy morning, with an impressive 13 personal bests. We also welcomed 7 children doing their very first parkrun anywhere, plus 3 visitors joining us at Golden Valley for the first time. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and will be back soon!

And there are more milestone wristbands coming: Coralie A and Evander A completed their 25th junior parkruns today, while Felix B and Ellis H reached number 10. Congratulations! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🦺Finally, a huge thank you to our 23 volunteers who made this morning possible. We simply couldn’t put junior parkrun on without you.
