🏠⛪️🏡🕋Our second drop in event for the Neighbourhood Plan consultation is tomorrow at 10.00am in the Council Chamber at Newark Town Hall.🏠⛪️🕋🏡

Come along to find out more about the plan, ask questions of those involved in the development of the plan, share your feedback and take an active part in shaping a document that will influence the development of the town over the next 15 years.

The plan will be subject to referendum and will only form part of the local development policies if voted for by you the public. The current plan is only a draft. This is your opportunity to tell us if you think the plan captures community views and ambitions;, all feedback will be taken into account if not, we need to know why.

At the end of the consultation all feedback will be taken into accounts and revisions likely will be made to the present draft.
Planning policy can be complex, and the draft plan is an extensive document. We can talk you through it, explain how it works and the implications of it being adopted if voted for.

Don’t forget!

Tonight is the first drop in for the public consultation sessions for the Neighbourhood Plan.

Look forward to hearing residents views on this important document.

Neighbourhood Planning Policy – Public Referendum – Be Ready to Vote

We have today launched a formal statutory consultation process relating to a planning policy document called a Neighbourhood Plan.

For the next 6 weeks we will be seeking views from businesses, residents and local organisations in relation to the document and the policies within it.

This planning policy document is unlike other planning policy (usually set by the Government and the District Council) in that the residents of Newark will have formal opportunity to vote to adopt or reject the document in a referendum.

You can find out more about the document and its content by visiting our website. There you will find a copy of the Plan and details of its content. There is also a questionnaire which we would welcome being completed by as many people as possible.

We will be holding a series of drop-in sessions at Newark Town Hall where you can attend and discuss the document with those that have been involved in developing it and provide relevant feedback. The first drop in session is this Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm. We will also be attending other events and widely promoting the consultation process during the next 6 weeks.

Please visit the website to find out more.

We are now Consulting on the Neighbourhood Plan and need to know what you think. Details of how you can share your views with us can be found below.

Flood information and advice
Flood warnings are an important first step. There are also other ways to help reduce the impacts of flooding.
• Create a personal flood plan
• Explore property flood resilience measures that can help protect your home
• Check river and rainfall levels in your area
• Check your home or business insurance covers flood risk
• Find out about local Flood Warden schemes and community support

More information is available at www.gov.uk/flood

Being flood aware does not mean flooding will occur. It simply means knowing where to find information if conditions change.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. By staying informed, you can help make your community more resilient to flooding.
Yours faithfully,
Environment Agency
