Our latest Coaches Corner Q&A welcomed Sports Psychologist Emily Tillett for an insightful session exploring how parents can help create positive sporting experiences for young people. 🧠
Drawing on research and her experience in sport and exercise psychology, Emily explored what positive parental involvement looks like, sharing practical, evidence-based advice on balancing encouragement, support and independence throughout a young person’s sporting journey. 🗣️
The session also covered managing emotions, expectations and pressure, alongside the importance of helping young athletes build confidence, develop resilience and maintain their enjoyment of sport. 💫
There was plenty of opportunity to explore how parents can create a positive sporting environment, supporting young people as they develop their skills and progress through their sporting journey. 🌱
A big thank you to Emily and everyone who joined us for the session. 💬
