Today, P6 welcomed David form LiveHereLoveHere to class to talk to the children about recycling and looking after our environment. The children learnt about the correct bins to use for rubbish, how we can look after the environment in school and conducted a rubbish audit in the school bins! Well done P6 and thank you to David for coming and talking to the children. 🌏🌏🌏

Primary 7 have had a fantastic term ditching paper and pencils to dive into practical, hands-on Numeracy!
Here is a peek at what we’ve been up to:
🧩 IZAK 9 Cubes: Connecting fractions, decimals and percentages.
🍭 Lolly stick patterns: Building and spotting tricky number sequences.
📐 Protractor teamwork: Showing fantastic peer support while mastering angle measurement.
✏️ Desk doodling: Discovering that long multiplication is so much more fun when written directly on the desks... (Shhh, don't tell Mr. Irvine! 🤫)

Some of our staff who were all ‘Pretty in Pink’ today and raised £275 for breast cancer support . A small gesture to recognise and celebrate the amazing inspiration some of our own ladies have been in recent times. 💪

October has been a busy and exciting month in Primary 1! We’ve had lots of fun exploring fairytales, learning our letter sounds and numbers, working with our P7 buddies and taking our learning outdoors. We’ve especially loved welcoming our Mystery Readers and sharing stories together. Best of all, we’re growing in confidence, learning new things and making wonderful friendships along the way!

“The best art lesson ever!”… high praise from Primary 7 today as we welcomed locally born illustrator Conor Busuttil virtually to our classroom!

We’ve been learning about myths and legends in Literacy and how to create mythical creatures. Conor brought our descriptions to life in his drawings, then taught the children how to draw his favourite mythical creature: a dragon.

The discussions around creative freedom and exploring mythical characters will be invaluable as our pupils continue this topic. We love studying the books Conor has illustrated and can’t wait to see more of his future designs!

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule, Conor! 🎨🐉

As part of our Transport topic, P2 enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Newtownards Airport today! ✈️
We learned about different types of aircraft, had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a plane, and even discovered what it takes to fly one.
To end a fantastic day, we visited the play park at Blair Mayne Leisure Centre, where everyone had great fun playing with their friends. We had a wonderful day of learning and adventure!
