It's another red box day at the library as a shipment of new books arrives. We were delighted to find the Gruffalo, Taylor Swift, Doctor Who supremo Russell T Davies and much more under the lid. See anything you fancy? The books will be on the shelves soon, so pop down and pick one up. If you can't see it on the shelf, please ask.

Join our magical storyteller as they travel to the Firework Festival on Thursday, 29 October, at 2:30pm.

Join the journey where you will learn about Lila’s voyage across lakes and over mountains, facing her biggest fears and learning everything she needs to know to become the person she has always wanted to be.

This wonderful adventure for the whole family features talking elephants, silly kings, magical creatures, and the timeless message that we all have the power to become the person we dream of being.

Based on Philip Pullman’s award-winning novel, The Firework Maker's Daughter, this new intimate and fun production by Next Door But One (https://www.facebook.com/ndb1arts/) is inclusive and accessible for all, featuring Makaton, puppetry, and lots of audience participation!

Running time - 40 minutes

Suitable for children aged 4+ and their families.

All performances are presented as relaxed performances, which means audiences are free to move around, step outside and come back in, and generally do whatever it is they need to do to be comfortable and enjoy the performance.

The show is free, but booking is essential.

Where have you taken the Digital Library?

One of the best things about eBooks and eAudiobooks is that you can take your library with you wherever you go.

This Get Online Week, we'd love to see where you're enjoying your digital library. Whether you're relaxing at home, travelling, out for a walk or enjoying a holiday, share a photo of yourself reading or listening on your device and help us create a Digital Reading Wall of Fame at your local library.

Send your photo by direct message, email or show it to library staff during Get Online Week. We can't wait to see where your digital library has taken you!
