🚨 Breaking - Unfortunately West Northamptonshire Council Overview & Scrutiny Committee have just voted to uphold the Cabinet decision to change Black Bin Collections to 3 weekly in Northampton & South Northants. 🗑️

I spoke this evening but despite mine & others best efforts to stop this Reform have chosen not to listen to residents. The proposal will now go ahead as Reform want. 😔

Incredibly just after increasing Council tax our Reform UK Council have announced they intend to move Northampton’s black bin collections to 3 weekly instead of 2! 😮

Today West Northamptonshire Council announced proposed changes to their waste services which included changes to how our waste will be collected in the town. ♻️

The argument is that this has worked well in other rural parts of the county but I would argue that Northampton, given its size and urban density has much different needs. Can you imagine the smell in the summer for example?! 👃🤢

The decision hasn’t been finalised yet but unfortunately past experience shows how these things go. I would urge everyone to feed into the consultation (below), and contact your local Councillor- let them know how you feel! I’ll be doing the same. ✍️

The Councillor for Blackthorn & Rectory Farm has only attended 1 meeting since May last year and has not raised 1 single issue with members enquiries since being elected. 😔

Councillor Jeffery Johnson (Reform UK) currently receives over £16,000 per year for his role. Nadia Lincoln reports. ⬇️

Unfortunately they won’t let me speak at the meeting but our petition is nearing 1000 signatitues which I’ll make sure is submitted to them. 🙌 ✍️

While Reform UK have scrapped plans to introduce parking plans in Daventry, Towcester & Brackley the plans for Northampton remain in place. 😡

Northampton overwhelmingly voted for Reform Councillors last May and this feels awfully unfair on our town. We need our councillors, whatever party they are to fight for our residents & businesses. 😔

Please sign & share our petition & let them know how you feel. They can still change their minds and not vote this through Thursday night! 🗳️

Today, myself & Taylor Cowley-Coulton, for Blackthorn and Rectory Farm are launching a petition against the proposed unfair parking increases, removal of free weekend parking & scrapping of free disabled blue badge parking in Northampton. 🅿️

While West Northants Council have now scrapped plans to introduce new parking chargers in Towcestor, Daventry & Brackley, Northampton’s residents and Town Centre businesses are the ones who will suffer. 😠

This is especially disappointing when you consider these areas of West Northants are far more affluent & wealthy than our Town? How is this fair? 😔

We urge all Reform Northampton West Northamptonshire Council Councillors to challenge their leadership & vote against these changes on 26th Feb. The power is in their hands! Please sign our petition and let them know how you feel today. 🙏

Jew hate is on the rise.

Today’s Holocaust Memorial Day had a theme of ‘Bridging Generations’.

The critical message is this: we MUST continue to tell the stories and share the evidence of what happened during the reign of the N***s to prove to younger generations that humans are capable of barbaric and atrocious acts and on a mass scale.

I spoke at the event earlier to land one key point about the precarious place we are currently at with anti-semitism: belief in truth is evaporating and trust in unverified sources is rising.

If I were a kid today reading for the very first time that there was a chap eighty years ago that decided to kill six million people simply because of their religion, why would I believe it? What or who do these kids have to find out the truth about it and other key events?

You may have heard of the podcaster Joe Rogan. He runs the most successful podcast on Planet Earth right now. Many friends of mine are regular listeners, consuming huge quantities of his content every week and though they may argue to the contrary, are being influenced by it.

Joe has had all sorts of debates on his show about current affairs, politics and religion, with many guests, some of whom that are highly conspiratorial or hold views that are anti-semitic, Islamophobic and so on.

Undoubtedly these controversial people are brought on to entertain and increase listenership, and I’m sure some of it is meant in jest or not intended to be relied upon. But some of the old conspiracies about Jewish control, wealth and power have come through on his shows multiple times.

Joe recently did a piece on Jews where he was asked a simple question: how many Jews does he think are currently living on this planet?

His answer? 500m-1 billion.

The real answer? Around 15m.

And we wonder why Jews are fearful of the current rise in anti-semitism?

People believe we are some sort of big, strong, evil force when in reality, we are a rounding error that with another Hi**er could be seen off altogether.

Look out for your Jewish friends and colleagues. They need you.
