Our Statement in response to President Trump's comments:

The service and sacrifice of British personnel in Afghanistan cannot be called into question, and we condemn any comments that undermine their extraordinary contribution. 457 British personnel lost their lives in Afghanistan and thousands more and their families now live with the lifelong physical and mental impact from service in that conflict.

The dedication and sacrifices of the men and women in the British Armed Forces from the UK, Commonwealth, and beyond, to protect our freedoms and support our allies deserves our deep and ongoing respect and gratitude.

Our nation’s support for our Armed Forces is never in doubt. The Royal British Legion through our ongoing work to recognise, remember, and support the Armed Forces community, ensures that their unique contribution is not forgotten. This recognition is shared across communities, cultures, and faiths.

As this Armistice Day draws to a close, we would like to pay tribute to the people of Bingham who came together to stop their busy lives and take time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Both today and on Remembrance Sunday, the Bingham community demonstrated in their hundreds that 'We will remember them'🇬🇧

We must also recognise the following people for all their support and contributions in recent days - without you all we would not have been able to pay our respect to the fallen:

Bingham Community Events, Bingham Community Big Band, Jim Cook, Rev Dawn Brown (welcome to Bingham!) of Bingham Methodist Church, Deacon Wendy Forbes-Buckingham and Canon Peter Watkins of Bingham Saint Mary and All Saints Church, Nottinghamshire Army Cadet Force Toot Hill Detatchment, 1936 Newton Squadron, Bingham Scouts, Bingham and Villages District Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, Bingham Fire Station, Glynn Ritchie of https://www.facebook.com/Boysbrigade33, Helen Sutton of The The Marple Band and all the VIPs who made time in their schedules to attend the Bingham parades.
How lucky we all are to be able to gather in the centre of our great town and make our tributes at the beautiful Buttercross!

Join us this Sunday for The Royal British Legion - Bingham Branch Remembrance Day Ceremony .

At 10:35AM, the parade will step off, setting the stage for a heartfelt tribute.

10:53 AM, we'll begin with an introduction, followed by the solemn act of remembrance and the roll of honour.

As the clock strikes 11:00 AM, the haunting notes of the Last Post will signal two minutes of silence, a time to reflect and honor those who served.

At 11:03 AM, a piper's melody will fill the air, leading to the wreath-laying ceremony, a blessing, and the stirring notes of the national anthem by Bingham Community Big Band.

Come and be part of this poignant occasion as we pay our respects and remember together.
