Daffodils and Crocus Spring must be coming.

Some pictures from this evenings walk. We will be having another go at finishing the w**ds at some point in the next few weeks.

This morning we started to w**d the playground area. There were 3 of us to start and a couple of people joined us to help. There is a long way to go and we're wondering when people thought was the best time to do this as so few came to help today. Would Sunday afternoon be better or Saturday?

We are having a w**ding session at the helicopter park this Sunday 7th September at 10am. Hope to see some of you there to tidy up the playground 🚁 (weather dependent). 🌞🌧️

Jackie Bells Fields in Netherfield is set to receive a major upgrade thanks to a £98,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that awards grants for community, conservation, and heritage projects. The funding comes from the Landfill Communities Fund, supported by donations from waste and resource management company FCC Environment.

The improvements will include refurbishment of some existing equipment and flooring, as well as the installation of exciting new features such as a 30-metre zip line, multi-play climbing units, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout and trampoline, a table tennis table, a chess table, new seating, and basketball hoops. Park full of school children every pice of equipment in use on a Friday afternoon! 6 school uniforms observed. 15:43. 6 children on the helicopter alone!

"Slides are a non negotiable" was a quote from one of the 20 or so pitches from the year 6s at Arno Vale Junior School. The concepts and original ideas were exceptional. Underwater experience, Animal Kingdom, Robin Hood, Spy's Nature, Egypt and obviously Helicopters were just some of the themes around which the playgrounds were based. They understood concepts of inclusivity and health and safety and marketing. One of the groups zoned the playground using different colours on the ground another wanted to include wildlife.

A busy afternoon at the helicopter park in the sunshine, as I walked up in the sunshine as at least 3 sets of school uniforms observed, where children mix happily playing as I passed.

I had just spent an amazing afternoon at Arno Vale Junior school, where they pitched to the Friends and a playground designer their ideas for the playground.
