Dahlia Planting! 🌺
Thanks to the St Ann’s Allotments Horticulture City & Guilds Students who helped the Greenspace and Natural Environment Team to plant about 650 dahlias today!
Don’t forget, Saturday the 20th of June is Dahlia Day where members of the public can bring along your dahlias and plant them in our historic bed - we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
In August, this bed will be transformed into a wonderful array of colour and foliage as the dahlias bloom.

☀️ If you’re heading to our parks over the next few days to enjoy the sunshine, please stay safe - especially around water.
In hot weather, it’s tempting to cool off in open water, but looks can be deceiving. Even in summer, cold temperatures and strong undercurrents can pose real risks.
💧 Top tips to stay safe near open water:
👀 Always supervise children
🚫 Avoid alcohol around water
🧍 Never swim alone or outside of properly supervised sessions
📞 If you fall into water unexpectedly, call 999 immediately
