This Volunteer Week, we're celebrating our incredible volunteers and the creativity, connection, and joy they bring to our community every day. 🎨💜

🌱 There are lots of ideas about what volunteering involves, and sometimes these can stop people from taking the first step.

We want to take a moment to gently clear a few things up.

Volunteering with us isn’t about being perfect or having lots of experience — it’s about being willing to listen, learn, and support families in a meaningful way.

Whether you have a couple of hours a week or a bit more time to give, there are different ways to get involved and grow your skills along the way.

Take a look at some common myths and the real facts about volunteering with us… 🌸

🌱 Growing Together This June 🌸

This June, we will be starting our next Preparation Course — a supportive and practical programme designed to help volunteers feel confident, prepared, and ready to support families.

Like a seed growing into a strong and flourishing plant, this course is all about nurturing your skills, building confidence, and helping you develop the tools you need to make a real difference in the lives of families.

Our Preparation Course will help you:
🌿 Understand the role of supporting families in a safe, meaningful way
🌿 Build confidence in listening, communication, and relationship-building
🌿 Learn practical skills to support parents through everyday challenges
🌿 Connect with others who share the same passion for helping families thrive

We are keen to hear from people who are:
🌼 Warm, caring, and non-judgemental
🌼 Good listeners who are open to learning
🌼 Reliable, patient, and supportive
🌼 Passionate about making a positive difference in their community

Now is the perfect time to reach out if you’ve ever thought about supporting a family and want to grow your own skills and experience along the way. Volunteering is a chance to plant the seeds of confidence, compassion, and connection — for both you and the families you support.
