209 Squadron took to the trails this weekend for the Wing cross-country competition, running, laughing, and backing each other across a varied and challenging course.
The day began with high energy and a clear determination to do well. Cadets tackled climbs and twisting paths with steady pacing and plenty of encouragement from teammates and marshalls. Teamwork turned tricky moments into opportunities: quieter runners found support.
One cadet finished in the top three of their age category, a standout result that reflected there motivation and determination.
The event finished with wide smiles, and excited talk about training plans for next year. Well done to everyone who took part for representing 209 Squadron with grit, good humour, and great sportsmanship.

🎉 It’s Volunteers’ Week! 🎉
We are proud to be taking part in Volunteers’ Week 2025, saying thank you to all of our Volunteers across the country, for making the RAFAC experience happen.
This week we will be highlighting the different roles our volunteers undertake, to ensure all of our RAF Air Cadets have an unforgettable experience. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do!
