Today we are saying goodbye to Hefin as he leaves our team to adventure elsewhere! 🇺🇸 ✈️ ☀️
It’s been nothing but a joy to watch Hefin grow and develop in his various roles with the charity and - we are incredibly proud of him and extremely grateful for the years he has poured into the life of 🫶🏼
He will be missed for sure, but will always be part of our OO family. We are so blessed to have had you in our team Hefin and we know you have such a bright future ahead of you.

A rewarding opportunity to join our incredible team. Based at our Nottingham HQ, the role is a combination of practical work (building beds and furniture for vulnerable children around the area) as well as some administrative work at our office.
If you know someone who would be perfect for this role, please pass on the information to them 🙏

We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all the crafters around the country who make and send us blankets to use in our projects.
It always so lovely to see such variety in the blankets we receive. They are a vital part of what we do and are used across so many of our projects. Not only do they help keep the children who receive them warm but they help bring joy and put a smile on their faces.
We were thrilled to have Joel pop into our office recently, who comes by whenever he is in the area to bring blankets on behalf of Julia and the Loving Hands group all the way from Shetland!! We are so grateful to Joel for generously bring them so far whenever he is able and it’s incredible to have such ongoing support from Julia and the Loving Hands group from so far away! Thank you!
We’ve also had some lovely blankets dropped off recently from some of our regular supporters, Chris and Dawn, the Nuthall Methodist Church, and The Cast Offs. It was so lovely to see the beautiful blankets they had created that we know will make such a difference to the children.
Whilst we love meeting all our crafters, it’s also incredible to see how many blankets we get in the post and where they all come from, it’s amazing to see how many people across the country support us and the variety of designs we get is lovely.
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone in our army of crafters from near and far! We are so grateful for the support and what you do makes such a difference to the children who receive your blankets! Thank you!

So grateful to 6th Beeston Scout Group for allowing us to use their hall today to sort through donations. We definitely needed a and thanks to our staff and volunteers today, we’ve made a good start. 🥳🥰🙌🏼
Since the pandemic it’s become increasingly difficult (and costly) to ship aid to our projects and we made the decision to shift our focus to more essential support where needed.
We’ve been so grateful over the years to have received lots of beautiful handmade hats, scarves & gloves however we no longer have an outlet for these.
When we are responding to an international crisis that would require specific items, we will put word out. Until then, we are only able to accept items we have a use for in our current projects;
Large warm blankets (approx 6’x4’) ✅
Great quality fitted sheets & duvet cover sets ✅
Toiletries & cleaning supplies ✅
New duvets & pillows ✅
Great quality single beds ✅
Great quality cot beds/toddler beds ✅
Great quality (as new) mattresses ✅
Thank you all for your incredible support and love. ❤️
