Plans for a Healthy Living Hub on Walker Street in Eastwood are being developed as Broxtowe Borough Council seek external funding to bring the project to life.
In December, the Council’s Cabinet agreed to commit £140,000 to further develop the plans, which have created a comprehensive design for the building, site layout and a business plan showing how the centre can be financially sustainable. The Council will now apply for any appropriate external funding grants with the Council now seeking funding from East Midlands Combined County Authority, the Ministry of Housing, Community and Local Government, or Department of Health and Social Care.
The proposal for the Healthy Living Hub includes a new health and wellbeing hub that will house a new GP surgery, pharmacy, library, 5-lane community swimming pool, boxing club and women’s services.
