Turn the page on a new challenge!

Running from September 2026 until March 2027, we have a reading challenge for anyone age 16+ available at the library: Book Bingo! Take a bingo card from the library desk to join and be in with a chance of winning a £50 book token.

Whether you read every day or haven't picked up a book in years, Book Bingo is your chance to explore new ideas, stories and interests. Complete the six themed reading challenges between September 2026 and 13th March 2027. The themes are deliberately open, giving you the freedom to choose books that match your interests, hobbies and passions. Fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, graphic novels, eBooks or large print all count.

Each time you complete a challenge, visit your library to have your card stamped. Complete all six challenges and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 book token!

Read what you love. Discover something new.

North Northamptonshire Council is consulting on its draft Car Parking Strategy 2026-2036, which sets out a long-term approach for the management of Council owned car parks and parking services across the area.

The objectives for the draft Car Parking Strategy 2026-2036 are to establish a consistent approach to:

-Reduce congestion, particularly in town centres, encouraging efficient use of car parks
-Promote healthy and sustainable travel choices
-Adopt a user pays principle for car parks
-Reinvest and improve infrastructure within car parks, to include reliable, modern and efficient payment options
-Improve user experience and ensure car parks are safe, secure and fit for purpose

Please visit the Your Voice Matters hub for further information, including how to have your say at https://northnorthants.citizenspace.com/place-and-economy/car-parking-strategy/

You can also view all other consultation and engagement activities on the Your Voice Matters hub.

Please feel free to share with family and friends or your networks who may be interested to share their views.

This consultation closes at 23.59 on 20 December 2026

Just a reminder that our poetry writing competition is still in full flow and will be running until 22nd October. We launched this competition on National Poetry Day and have already received some brilliant entries from both adults and children.

We would like you to write a poem based on this year's National Poetry Day theme of 'Wonder'. This can be in any poetry format that you wish to create and the Friends Of Oundle Library have kindly donated a book token prize for the winners of the two categories.

The closing date for entries is Thursday 22nd October after which they will be independently judged. As well as a book token, the two winning poems will be framed and put on display in the library.

To enter the competition all you need to do is pick up a blank template sheet from the library.
