Temporary Road closure - Hastings Road

On Sunday 8 November a section of Hastings Road (between the junction of Belfield Road and the junction of Chalket Lane) will be closed for the duration of the Remembrance Parade.

The parade will begin to form at 10am (Belfield Road residents are politely requested to avoid driving down the road at this time where possible).

The road closure will be in place from 10am until midday.

Thank you for your understanding, and please do join us in commemorating the fallen at the parade and service, starting at 10.30am. The parade will travel along Hastings road before moving to the War Memorial for the service and laying of wreaths.

We appreciate that because they are noisy by their very nature - fireworks are not appreciated by everyone - particularly those with animals. 🐶🐰🐎

We have tried to mitigate against adverse noise again this year by opting for a 'quieter display' from the Phoenix Fireworks team.

Residents are advised that firing time is scheduled for 7.30pm and will last approximately 20 minutes. The firing zone is Lower Green Recreation Ground.

It's time to plan your journey for our epic Fireworks event on Friday evening!

Please arrive on foot where possible to ease congestion through the village.🚶🚶

Our main pedestrian entrance this year is via Lower Green Road, but the car park will be closed to traffic.

Our friends at Pembury Tesco have kindly allocated our visitors a limited number of parking spaces between the hours of 6pm and 8pm (for longer than 2 hours please register your vehicle inside the store).

The nearest entrance to the Recreation Ground from Tesco is Woodhill Park.

Accessible parking spaces are available at the Scout Hut. These need to be booked in advance by contacting [email protected] 🛻🚶

Finally... please can we politely request that drivers do not park on the double yellow lines in the Village. This causes a safety hazard as well as making access difficult for our residents. Many thanks for your co-operation.
