Halloween 🎃 | Make it a treat for everyone 👻

Have a good time this Saturday, just remember that not everyone celebrates Halloween and may not want people coming to their door trick or treating.

Some people, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, may get worried or even frightened if strangers are continually calling at their door during the evening. It can also disturb babies, young children and nervous dogs and cats.

So please respect those who don’t want to take part in trick or treating, and stick to areas and people you know.

If you welcome trick or treaters, or if you’d rather they didn’t come knocking, you can download and print posters for your window that lets them know either way from our website 👉 https://orlo.uk/5TZ3J

There’s a colour “Sorry – no trick or treat” poster, and a black and white printer friendly version. You’ll also find a colour “Welcome Halloween callers with children in costume” poster, and a version of that to colour in.

Retailers: you can also download a poster which lets people know that the sale of eggs and flour will be at your discretion.

The driver of this Mini was stopped and found to be disqualified from driving. They were reported to Court for the offence and had their car seized.

Penzance Neighbourhood Team was proud to support the annual Trafalgar Day Parade in Madron, Penzance today, commemorating one of the greatest victories in British naval history and remembering the sacrifice of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson.
The event marks the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, where the British fleet secured a decisive victory against French and Spanish forces. In keeping with a long-standing local tradition, sailors from RNAS Culdrose marched to St Maddern’s Church, which is believed to have hosted one of the first thanksgiving services following news of the victory reaching Cornwall.
Local history tells how HMS Pickle carried news of the battle to Falmouth, passing word to fishermen in Mount’s Bay, who then brought the news to Penzance. The Mayor is said to have led a procession to Madron Parish Church carrying a commemorative banner, which remains on display there today.
With the sun shining throughout the parade, it was fantastic to see so many members of the community come together to honour this important part of our local and national heritage.
We were also delighted to see our own Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Leaper taking part in the parade alongside naval personnel, civic leaders, and local dignitaries.

Tempting as it may be to save money, using fake online pharmacies puts you at risk of serious harm – check that any pharmacy you use is legitimate at the link at the end of this post.

Fake online pharmacies can dispense medicines that are inappropriate, ineffectively dosed, or even counterfeit. These counterfeit medicines can include seriously dangerous substances such as cement and even arsenic.

2. Search for the pharmacy on the official GPhC register.

On Thursday 3rd September 2026, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team set up our engagement gazebo outside the old Lloyds Bank in Penzance.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. It was great to hear your concerns, answer your questions, and discuss the issues that matter to you. Our visible presence in the town centre also helped deter anti-social behaviour throughout the day. We are increasing our foot patrols in the town and we hope you will see the effects of this as time goes on and we gather evidence against our repeat offenders.
We were also joined by a BBC film crew who were filming a piece on town centre thefts and the work being carried out by police and partner agencies to prevent crime and investigate offences.
Community engagement is one of our favourite parts of the job, and we always welcome the opportunity to speak with local residents.
We'll be back soon with another engagement day, and you'll continue to see us regularly on foot patrol with the Street Marshals. If you spot us in town, don't hesitate to come over and say hello! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
