Perth Arts Festival, Scotland 28/05/2026

Perth Festival of the Arts has been a huge supporter of our Respitality project for many years.

Their 2026 programme is now in full swing, and we were delighted to receive a number of tickets to some of this years shows for our unpaid carers.

Our Senior Carers Short Breaks Officer, Anne, says:

“We are extremely lucky to have such a great organisation on our doorstep, which has collaborated with us for many years.

The opportunity to attend theatrical productions is not always accessible to everyone, and PFoA helps our carers to enjoy a short but meaningful break from their caring role by attending these performances free of charge.

We cannot thank them enough for their continued support.”

The festival is a vibrant celebration of the visual and performing arts. If you’d like to find out what’s on, be sure to visit their website:

New Crannog to be unveiled five years after blaze 22/05/2026

We are delighted to wish our Respitality partners at the Scottish Crannog Centre all the very best for their official opening today.

Our Senior Short Breaks Officer, Anne, has the following to say about them:

"We were extremely fortunate when, almost 18 months ago, the Crannog Centre agreed to collaborate with us. Since then, they have provided invaluable support to our unpaid carers through a wide range of opportunities, including days out via the national Respitality scheme, a VIP day for our adult carers, day trips for parent carers and their loved ones, as well as memorable visits for our young carers’ groups.

The Crannog Centre staff truly understand the vital role our unpaid carers play in the community, the pressures they face, and they respect the work unpaid carers do, day in and day out.

Our carers feel welcome, appreciated, valued and most importantly relaxed here.

As Mike Benson the Centre Director has mentioned to me previously, “together we tell the timeless stories of home, of communities where everyone is valued, being there for one another, and of small acts of kindness.” And we are proud to be part of that story.

If we were to sum the Crannog Centre up in three words, we would say: “community, connection, and kindness” and we look forward to our continued collaboration with such a fabulous team."
