We were delighted to welcome the First Minister John Swinney this morning and to have the opportunity to talk about the experiences and needs of the women and children we support every day.
We also discussed the funding landscape for charitable organisations delivering vital services and shared some of the realities facing the sector.
Visits like these provide a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of our work and the challenges experienced by the people and communities we support.
Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn more about our organisation and the services we provide.

We welcome and support The Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service' awareness raising around non-fatal strangulation and stand alongside the Womenâs Aid network in raising awareness of the serious harm it can cause and supporting those affected.
Non-fatal strangulation is one of the most dangerous forms of abuse and is strongly linked to future risk of serious harm and homicide. In the UK, strangulation is the second most common method of female murder.
At Perthshire Womenâs Aid we support many women who have experienced ongoing health issues after strangulation, including those who have had strokes, as well as further physical health complications and severe PTSD.
Non-fatal strangulation is never âminorâ it is a serious form of abuse and should always be taken seriously.
If you need our support, please contact us on 01738 639043. Our support line is open 10am-2pm today.
You can also speak with someone 24h hours a day via the National Helpline 0800 027 1234
