🚦 The new traffic lights at Broadway and London Road are now operational!

The temporary traffic lights have been removed, and the new permanent traffic lights are now up and running.

This project was delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience while the works were carried out.

It’s great to see the new lights in place and this project completed!

Please keep comments positive and constructive. We appreciate that roadworks can be frustrating, but please remember that the Parish Council wasn’t responsible for delivering this project, so let’s not shoot the messenger!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. 😊

🚦 TRAFFIC UPDATE – BROADWAY / LONDON ROAD

We wanted to provide residents with an update on the ongoing works to replace the traffic signals at the junction of Broadway and London Road.

The works are progressing, and we understand that the temporary traffic arrangements have caused some disruption and delays. The new traffic signals are due to be installed next week and are currently scheduled to be switched on from Monday 19 October. 🀞

Unfortunately, there is likely to be further traffic disruption in the coming weeks, with works planned on Peterborough Road at Stanground.

🚧 Peterborough Road – Stanground

The section of Peterborough Road between the bridge and the Fire Station will be closed for five days from Monday 26 October to allow resurfacing works to be carried out.

The closure will be in place each day between:

πŸ•˜ 9.00am – 4.00pm

We appreciate that these works are likely to cause additional congestion, particularly for those travelling between Yaxley, Stanground and Peterborough.

Please allow extra time for your journeys, consider alternative routes where possible, and take extra care around the temporary traffic management.

We will continue to keep residents updated where we receive further information. Thank you for your patience while these essential works are carried out.

We are extremely disappointed to report that the young oak tree we planted at Queens Park Hall on Tuesday has already been vandalised.

The tree was planted as a positive addition to the site and, we hope, something that the community can enjoy for many years to come. It is incredibly frustrating to see it damaged so soon after being planted.

We have CCTV at Queens Park Hall and will be checking the footage to see if we can establish what has happened.

We would ask anyone who may have seen anything or who has any information about the damage to please get in touch with Yaxley Parish Council.

We all have a part to play in looking after our village and its facilities. πŸŒ³πŸ’š
