🍂 What a wonderful week we have had in Small Stones!

We have taken a particular interest in autumn, exploring all the wonderful changes happening around us. The children have loved playing with fallen leaves, watching them drift down from the trees and getting creative by decorating them. We have enjoyed exploring the different colours, shapes and textures of the leaves, encouraging curiosity, creativity and lots of lovely conversations about the world around us 🍁🍂

As part of our Remembrance Day commemorations, on Wednesday 21st October the children will be taking part in a special art activity, using large plastic bottles to create beautiful poppies for a whole-school display.

To help us with this project, we would be grateful if children could bring in clean 2-litre plastic bottles, along with the bottle caps. Bottles can be handed to the school office or given directly to your child's class teacher.

If you are able to donate more than one bottle, this would be greatly appreciated, as any extras can be shared with other children and will help ensure that everyone is able to take part. Please hand them to the class teacher or the school office before Wednesday 21st October.

We are hoping to collect enough bottles for every child to create a poppy and contribute to a striking Remembrance Day display at Knowle Primary School.

We are pleased to be hosting a Parent Community Information Event at Knowle Primary School, giving parents and families the opportunity to meet a range of professionals and local organisations who are here to offer advice, information and support.

We will be joined by representatives from Community Builders, Livewell (offering blood pressure checks), Citizens Advice, Plymouth Energy Community (PEC), PL5 Pathways, Timebank SW, Burrington Community Hub and EE. We are also hoping to welcome SEND Forum.

The event is a great opportunity for parents to find out more about the services available in our local community, ask questions and access support with a range of areas, including family wellbeing, health, finances, energy costs and additional needs.

We are committed to supporting not only our children but the whole family, and we hope this event helps parents feel informed, supported and connected to the services available to them.

Time: 14.50 - 16.00

School Parliament visit the secret head office of the Plymouth Schools Library Service!! They got to choose 20 books each to then bring back and put in the school library. We were amazed to see how many brand NEW books they have on their shelves!! A very good trip out...we will be back! 🌟📚📖📘📗📙

Witches, wizards, ghosts and ghouls are invited to join us for the Knowle Primary School PTFA Halloween Disco on Thursday 22nd October! Come dressed in your favourite Halloween costume and enjoy an afternoon of creepy tunes, spooky dancing and frightfully good fun with your friends.
