🌟 National Cadet Week 2026 🌟

This week we're celebrating the incredible young people who make up our Lancashire Volunteer Police Cadets.

We were delighted to welcome cadets from Preston, South Ribble and West Lancs to Headquarters for a special National Cadet Week event. Cadets heard from the Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw about his role and visions for Lancashire, enjoyed a visit from ACC Osiowy, Cadet Force Lead, who thanked them for their dedication and service to their communities, and were thrilled when our Chief Constable stopped by to say hello and show support for their achievements.

Our cadets continue to make a real difference through volunteering, community engagement and representing Lancashire Constabulary with pride. We are incredibly proud of everything they achieve and thankful for the commitment, enthusiasm and leadership they demonstrate throughout the year.

👏 Thank you to all our cadets, leaders and guests who helped make the evening such a memorable celebration.

West Lancashire Police Cadets were back in action last night for another fantastic session!

Cadets were pleased to be joined by Chief Inspector Helen Bevan, who introduced herself and spoke about her role within Lancashire Constabulary, sharing valuable insights and experiences from her policing career.

The evening then moved on to preparations for the upcoming Remembrance events, with Cadets beginning to learn and practise drill. Their enthusiasm, focus and commitment were clear to see as they worked hard to develop this important skill.

Well done to all our cadets for a great start to their Remembrance training. 👏

Chorley & South Ribble Police Cadets were back in action this week for their first session of the new term! 🎉

It was a great evening spent getting to know each other, welcoming new cadets, and catching up after the summer break. The cadets also had the opportunity to meet Chief Inspector Helen Bevan, who took the time to speak with the group and share her experiences in policing.

We look forward to another exciting term filled with learning, teamwork, and new opportunities for our cadets to develop their skills and support their communities.

Our West Lancs Police Cadets were delighted to kick off their first session of the new term, welcoming both familiar and new faces for another exciting year of learning, teamwork and community involvement.

The weekend continued with a fantastic visit as part of Heritage Day, where cadets explored Lancaster Police Museum and Lancaster Castle. The visit gave them a fascinating insight into the history of policing, crime and justice, helping bring local heritage to life.

🚁 A Fantastic Visit to NPAS Barton! 🚁

Last week saw another visit over to Greater Manchester where Preston Unit enjoyed an exciting visit to the NPAS Barton base.

During the visit, cadets learned about the vital role the police helicopter plays in supporting policing operations, as well as the specialist tactics, technology and equipment used by the crew. They also gained an insight into when and why the aircraft may be deployed across the region.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to step aboard the helicopter and take a closer look at the impressive onboard equipment used to help keep our communities safe.

A huge thank you to the team at NPAS Barton for their warm welcome, engaging demonstrations and for taking the time to answer the cadets' questions.

It was a memorable and informative experience, giving our cadets a valuable insight into one of the many specialist areas of policing. 🚔🚁

Well done to our amazing cadets from the Preston Unit! 👏

This morning, they proudly supported the Central Lancs 5 and 10 Mile Road Race, playing a vital role in ensuring the event ran smoothly. From marshalling and keeping all runners safe, to cheering on participants in the heat.

Although it was a brilliant morning and a fantastic effort from our cadets! 😊We only managed to grab one photo because everyone was far too busy helping out, keeping runners safe and making sure the event ran smoothly. Not ideal for social media, but a pretty good sign that they were fully focused on the job!

A huge thank you to all the cadets for their dedication and to every participant who took part. Great teamwork and community spirit all round! 💪🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🎖️
