Update from WBC – Bearwood Primary School relocation

Last month we shared our proposals to relocate Bearwood Primary School from Sindlesham to a new, purpose-built site in Spencers Wood.

The school would retain its nursery provision and 210 mainstream places. It would also create up to 14 places for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for autism and speech, language and communication needs.

If the school is relocated, free transport between the current and new sites would be provided for at least three years following the move in September 2028.
We heard from 226 people as part of our early engagement, including parents/carers, school staff and local residents. We also held two focused sessions with those directly impacted by the changes.

We had planned to launch a statutory consultation next week. However, we are delaying the consultation by a few weeks and will confirm the new launch date as soon as possible.
