Sport England have advised a development can only go ahead if 7m netting is put in to prevent cricket balls hitting houses. Such nets would look incredibly ugly, hugely impacting our conservation area and be catastrophic for local wildlife (including barn owls, bats, foxes, badgers, shrews and a number of birds of conservation). There is no proposal for who would tend to injured wildlife, or maintainence of the net (including removing caracases of animals).

Please protest against this plan by emailing planning@rbwm quoting reference 26/02219/OUT

🚗 Morland House Proposal - What would change on Hungerford Lane?

The proposed works would significantly alter the lane many of us walk, cycle and ride along every day.

Grassed verges would be absorbed into pavements and the road would be significantly narrowed. Near MH, people who currently park on the lane will be unable to.

In addition, the applicant's own highway note states that the new driveways would mean no parking would be legally permitted on the opposite side of the lane. Cars that park there now would have to go elsewhere.

The plans also include three new accesses, a narrowed carriageway, and the removal of centre line markings. The applicant estimates around 44 extra vehicle movements on a weekday.

We believe these changes would urbanise a rural lane. We also question whether they would make it safer for walkers, riders and children catching the school bus. If you use the lane, your own experience of it is exactly what the council needs to hear.

Please make your views known to protect our beautiful parish and our road safety.

Morland House - What's changed since the refused scheme?
According to the applicant's documents, the main changes are:
• 8 houses instead of up to 9
• 6 buildings instead of 5
• About 120 metres of new footway along the north side of Hungerford Lane, plus a new footway on The Street and a pedestrian crossing
• Narrowing of the carriageway, with centre line markings removed where the road is under 5.5m wide
• Three new vehicle accesses onto the lane
• A planted buffer next to the cricket ground, or alternatively 7-metre-high netting along the cricket pitch boundary

The applicant says these changes answer the reasons for the previous refusal. In our view, the core issue hasn't changed. This is still housing on an open Green Belt paddock in a conservation area of a beautiful village with little public amenities..
The council will decide, and it wants to hear from residents. You can object here quoting 26/02219/OUT

A new planning application for the land adjacent to Morland House has gone live this morning.

It is for 8 dwellings but a larger number of buildings and increased footprint as the proposed affordable homes are replaced.

We are analyzing the documents and will provide more updates in due course.

On Saturday April 25th, the very wonderful and great fun, Suzanne Newman, is running a fun singing session for female voices
medley of songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber and medley from Pocahontas. I was mean to go but unfortunately, due to travel, am now unable to do. I offered to see if anyone else wanted to book my place/other places. It really is great fun. No pressure and no expectation of musical ability. It costs £15 including music and refreshments and is from 2 to 4pm at
Charvil Village Hall.

book place by contacting Suzanne - [email protected]
