The founders were like-minded individuals who had been in the Fire Safety industry for over 30 years and had the vision to provide reliable, efficient, integrated and cost-effective Fire Safety and Electrical Service Ltd, established in 2008 and based in Redhill Surrey, is dedicated to providing our customers with third-party accredited Fire, Safety, and Training services, nationwide. We're backing Jack!

Our Lead Fire Risk Assessor, Jack Springford, is standing for re-election to the FIA Fire Risk Assessment Council.

Jack does a huge amount behind the scenes at SAFE I.S., from training our team and checking assessments to improving our procedures and helping us achieve industry accreditations.

He's now hoping to continue his work on the FIA Council, contributing to discussions about standards and improvements across the fire safety industry.

A fire alarm system is only as good as the team behind it.

At SAFE I.S. we look after fire alarm systems from installation and commissioning through to ongoing servicing and maintenance.

That means designing the system around the building, installing it correctly, keeping the documentation and zone plans clear, and then making sure the system continues to perform as intended year after year.

This particular installation uses an wireless fire alarm system, a flexible solution from a manufacturer we’re proud to work with.

When was your emergency lighting last fully tested?
When the normal lighting supply is isolated, the emergency fitting should illuminate using its battery supply.

A green charging indicator alone doesn’t prove that this will happen—or that the battery will last for the required duration. That’s why emergency lighting needs to be properly tested.

Fire Door Safety Week AND a milestone worth celebrating!

We’re delighted to share that Safe I.S. has officially achieved Bluesky Certification for Fire Door Inspection, and the timing couldn’t be better during Fire Door Safety Week.

Even better, we achieved certification with zero Non-Conformity Reports, a fantastic reflection of the standards, processes and competency we have worked hard to put in place.

A huge thank you goes to all of our Fire Door Inspectors who have contributed to this achievement. Their knowledge, attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards have been a major part of getting us here.

Fire doors are a critical part of a building’s passive fire protection. Regular inspection by competent persons helps identify defects, damage or deterioration and provides assurance that fire doors remain suitable to perform their intended function.
Fire Door Safety Week is an important reminder of exactly that and we’re proud to be able to mark it by demonstrating our own commitment to competent, consistent and third party certified fire door inspections.

Here, we’re carrying out servicing using a Solo 365 Electronic Smoke Detector Tester from Detector Testers, allowing our engineer to functionally test smoke detection and confirm the system is responding as it should.

Fire extinguisher servicing involves far more than replacing the label.

During a service, our engineers check the condition of the extinguisher, it's pressure and weight, safety pin, tamper seal and hose/horn. we also check that it is correctly positioned, accessible and appropriate for the risk within that area.

Just as importantly, we look at what has changed since our previous visit. A room may now be used differently, equipment may have moved or an extinguisher may have been relocated or obstructed.

Any defects or concerns are recorded and explained to the customer, along with the action required.
