𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 (𝗣𝗟𝗥) 📚

Did you know that by borrowing books from Norfolk Libraries you are supporting your favourite authors like Heidi Swain Author L J Ross Author Ross Greenwood Roald Dahl Lee Child Elly Griffiths and Alison Weir to name a few. ❤️

The Public Lending Right (PLR) is a scheme that allows authors to be fairly paid for each loan when their work is borrowed through public libraries. The rate per loan is 11.76p (2023/2024) so authors can get anything from £1 to a maximum of £6,600.

The PLR figures are based on loans data collected from a sample of UK public libraries 1 July - 30 June every year. Norfolk Library and Information Service is a Public Lending Right sample library.

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 ❤️

This week, the team have been very busy with improving the Library.

We want to make the space the very best that we can for YOU!

We have moved to the far wall to give more space to our highest lending genre. There are more displayed books to tempt you as well.

We have created a wellbeing corner with jigsaws, audiobooks, books by authors such as Rita Bradshaw and Anna Jacobs and large print books. We are adding new titles to this collection so everyone can enjoy a good book.

The community jigsaw is proving very popular as well and it over looks The Bircham Centre, Reepham 's beautiful garden.

We have rearranged our digital space to make it the best we can! 👍

You will now find the photocopier in the corner to help you focus on your copying, we are always available to help you as well.

The computer bays now have a divider between them to support focused use.

Our 'Digital Champion' sessions are every Wednesday between 10-12pm. If you would like to book one of these FREE support sessions with Max just speak to a member of staff.

The atmosphere on board the inaugural non-stop flight from London to Sydney is electric. Numerous celebrities are rumoured to be among the passengers in business class and journalists will be waiting on the ground to greet the plane.

Mina is one of a hand-picked team of flight attendants chosen for the landmark journey. She's trying to focus on the task in hand, and not worry about her troubled five-year-old daughter back at home with her husband. Or the cataclysmic problems in her marriage.

𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 📚

Discover the life of Roald Dahl the groundbreaking author whose work is beloved by children all over the world. Little Roald grew up in the city of Cardiff in Wales.

He loved to spend time reading with his family and visiting the local sweetshop for yummy chocolatey treats. But he found school difficult. No one believed in Roald's potential.

When Roald finished school, he was ready to make his life an adventure! He travelled the world and saw some amazing sights. When World War II started, he was ready to serve his country and joined the air force. 🛩️

During his service, his plane crashed over a desert, leaving him blind for a period of time. Roald wrote about his experience of the crash, and enjoyed doing it so much that from then on, he knew he wanted to be an author. 📘

This is one of the books from the wonderful 'Little People, Big Dreams' series.
