AUTUMN VICTORIAN TRAIN WEEKEND 24th - 25th October!

Both steam locomotives have been washed, oiled and coaled today, ready for an exciting weekend of DOUBLE STEAM on the GVLR passenger trains! 🔥🚂

Expect plenty of action, with solo, double-headed and top-and-tailed train formations operating throughout the weekend. Check out the timetable in the pictures to see what's running and when!

LMS Jinty No. 16440 will be hauling the Vintage Carriages, with volunteers dressed in Victorian railway costume to help bring the atmosphere of the era to life.

There's something for younger visitors, too! Children can join in with our special vintage-themed I-Spy competition.

Head over to the Road Transport Museum for a spectacle you won’t want to miss — our Aveling NCB Road Roller will be crushing cans… and we mean a lot of cans! Watch the action at 7pm each night and see just how heavy-duty this machine can be. It’s loud, it’s impressive, and it’s guaranteed to get a cheer from all ages!

SPOOKY TRAIN ADVENTURE!

All aboard the Golden Valley Light Railway for a spine-tingling Spooky Train Journey through the Country Park! A separate fare applies for this thrilling ride, so bring your bravery and sense of adventure… if you dare!

Refunds/Cancellation Policy

Cancelled bookings will only be refunded with 14 day’s notice and will incur a £5 admin charge.

With LESS than 14 day’s notice, no refund will be given.

16440 has returned home today from its short holiday with our friends over at The Great Central Railway.

16440 will now be prepped ready for the Autumn Vintage Train Weekend 24th - 25th October.

Step back in time at our Victorian Train Weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October.

Join us for a special steam-hauled weekend celebrating the golden age of railway travel, with beautifully restored vintage carriages and LMS Jinty 16440, which is celebrating its 100th birthday! 🎈🎈

Our volunteers will be on board in Victorian railway costume, helping to bring the atmosphere of the era to life. Younger visitors can also take part in our special vintage-themed I-Spy competition.

There’s also steam on the Golden Valley Light Railway at Swanwick Junction, with O&K locomotive No. 7529 in action.
GVLR tickets can be purchased at checkout: adult £2.50, child £1, family £5.50

Visitors arriving in Victorian costume can also travel half price on the day.

DOUBLE STEAM ON THE GOLDEN VALLEY LIGHT RAILWAY!
