Sue Thomas, chairman of the parish council, said: "This honour reflects the strong community spirit evident throughout the village over the past year.

"The council has strengthened its engagement with the community, supported by dedicated parishioners who trust us to keep Wellow a safe and welcoming place to live.

"We have earned that trust through openness, transparency and an enduring commitment to the village."

HALC said the council’s success was built on commitment, leadership and a genuine desire to serve residents.

🎃 A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Wellow and Plaitford Scarecrow Competition! 🌾

It’s been wonderful teaming up with our friends in Plaitford and seeing so many fantastic scarecrows bringing our communities together.

And the exciting news is that next year’s competition is set to be bigger and better, with Sherfield English joining the fun! 🎉

Thank you again to everyone who got involved. We can’t wait to see what next year brings! 🧑‍🌾🐦‍⬛

For the first time this year, the villages of Wellow and Plaitford joined forces for the annual scarecrow competition.

👏 Well done again to everyone involved in bringing the Men’s Shed to life over the past six years!

The facility has been created to provide a welcoming space where local people can come together, socialise, learn new skills, share knowledge and enjoy a wide range of creative, practical and recreational activities.

🔧 The Men’s Shed will also support the group’s repair shop service, which has already been running successfully for several years. This valuable service gives residents the opportunity to bring in household items to be repaired or repurposed, helping to reduce waste, extend the life of everyday items and avoid unnecessary disposal costs.

A fantastic addition to the local community and a great example of what can be achieved through dedication, teamwork and a shared vision. Well done to everyone who has helped make it happen! 👏

They are currently working on a project to train DIY to a group of ladies in the village getting more people involved and teaching skills.

🏆🎉 Wellow Parish Council has won the big one! 🏆🎉

We have been awarded Hampshire Council of the Year by the Hampshire Association of Local Councils.

A huge congratulations to all of our councillors and staff for their hard work and dedication. The amount of time, effort and commitment that has gone into the parish this year has been truly incredible.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to our parish over the past year. This award isn't just a reflection of the Parish Council's efforts—it's a recognition of the incredible community spirit shown by the many volunteers, groups, organisations and residents who help make Wellow such a special place to live.

This really is an achievement for the whole village.

Congratulations Wellow, and well done, everyone! 👏🎉
