Enjoy 15 seconds of an otter being an otter on one of the Wimpole Parkland lakes.

We haven't yet determined if the otters have established a holt on Wimpole Estate, but they certainly see it as a prime hunting and play ground.

Otters are among the more than 5,000 species that have been recorded here, making Wimpole one of the most nature-rich places in the region and within the National Trust network.

With ambitious plans for further nature restoration already in play across the estate, we anticipate that this number will continue to rise.

Now is a perfect time to enjoy walking and nature-watching at Wimpole - we look forward to welcoming you into our increasingly wild spaces.

Wimpole Estate is packed with things to see, do, make and play this half-term.

On top of the Very Hungry Caterpillar Trail tm, there's crafting on the Farm every week-day; spooky readings on Tuesday and Thursday; a chance to meet the local archaeologists on Tuesday and Wednesday; and eery goings on with Halloween in the House and Stranger Folk on any day.

And of course there is more space to roam and run off energy than you will ever need, lovely autumn gardens to wander in and plenty of cafés for pit-stops when required.

Autumn is such a fabulous time to go out walking and if you roam carefully around Wimpole Estate there's a good chance you will see a lot of wildlife.

Thanks to decades of careful management and a drive to restore nature, there is an abundance and variety of species to be found across the estate, helped in no small part by a pesticide-free and organic farming practice.

Huge thanks as always to GD whose daily walks and patience produce such gems. Do let us know what you have spotted on your trips to Wimpole Estate.

Halloween at Wimpole Estate is full of spooky surprises and shivery delights.

Grand dining rooms, spectacular staircases and creepy basements have been taken over by ghosties and ghoulies and things that go bump in the night.

If your family likes horror in a classy setting, venture into Wimpole Hall this October and share some chilling fun 🎃

Autumn is burnishing the grounds at Wimpole Estate and with great walking weather in sight, we invite you to come and stretch your legs and get close to the changing season.

There are a huge range of walks to be taken at Wimpole, from strolls around the Walled Garden and Pleasure Grounds to longer hikes on the Parkland and multi-user trail. Accessibility options include powered mobility scooters and an off-road Tramper, all of which can be discussed and booked in advance.

It's a wonderful time to be out enjoying the crisper air, colourful views and space to roam, so we look forward to seeing you out and about at Wimpole.

Have you visited The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ at Wimpole Estate yet?

With illustrated trail markers, giant food posts, activities and games, children can learn about days of the week, counting and the lifecycle of a butterfly, all within the beautiful setting of the Wimpole Estate.

Wriggle along our garden trail to spot juicy fruits, tasty snacks and take part in hands-on activities, before emerging as a beautiful butterfly.

We're looking forward to seeing a kaleidoscope of butterflies at Wimpole soon 🦋

With the hot days behind us, Wimpole Estate is a perfect destination if you are a lover of calm walks and striking autumnal shadows.

A potter round the Walled Garden or a stroll along the paths in the Pleasure Ground is a delight at this time of year, particularly if you arrive first thing and practically have the place to yourself...

Willow weaving workshops were wildly popular in spring so are back for autumn at Wimpole Estate.

Using all natural materials and under expert instruction, these sessions are hugely rewarding and are a lovely outing for friends, families and solos alike.
