For 11 patients last week, critical care included an anaesthetic at the scene 💛

This was part of 57 missions attended by Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR crews between 19–25 October. Medical incidents accounted for 53% of call-outs, followed by road traffic collisions at 14% and falls at 12%. Our crews also responded to assaults, industrial and agricultural incidents, and other trauma, including burns.

Sunday was the busiest day with 11 missions, and patients were taken to nine different hospitals during the week.

So far this year, our crews have responded to 2,984 missions — 130 more than at the same point last year. Your support helps keep them ready for the next call. A link to donate will be below.

Good luck to everyone taking on the Rugby Half Marathon this Sunday! 🏃‍♂️

A huge thank you and an extra special shout-out to everyone running and fundraising for Your Local Air Ambulance. 💛

Whether it's your first half marathon or you're chasing a new personal best, we hope you have an amazing day! Every mile you run and every pound you raise helps support our lifesaving work.

Fancy taking your running to the next level?

If 13.1 miles has inspired you to go even further, why not take on the London Marathon 2027?

Registration of interest is still open, and you can choose to run in support of either of our lifesaving services.

It was a pleasure to welcome Andrea Pinchen, CEO of Leicester Tigers, to our Nottingham airbase recently!

Andrea had the opportunity to meet members of our critical care crew, see our helicopter up close and learn more about the lifesaving work of Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

The visit follows Leicester Tigers' generous support of our Big Bases Appeal Gala Dinner earlier this year, where they donated a Champions Club Experience to help raise vital funds for our charity.

It was fantastic to discuss opportunities to work together, raise awareness and make a positive difference to the communities we both serve.

A huge thank you to Andrea and everyone at Leicester Tigers for their continued interest and support. We look forward to building on these conversations!

We’re embarking on our most urgent mission yet.

We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help secure the future of our lifesaving services by creating two new purpose-built air ambulance bases.

A future North Base will provide a purpose-built home supporting our operations across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, giving teams the facilities they need to train, prepare and remain mission-ready.

Together, our two new bases will help protect lifesaving care for generations to come.

We receive no government or NHS funding for our vital services.

Please donate today and help build the bases our crews need.

It’s not too late to Go Together next week! 💚💛

Bring your workplace, school or community event together for a colourful day of fundraising in support of our Big Bases Appeal.

From 19–25 October, go green for the National Children's Air Ambulance or yellow for Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR. Dress up, host a bake sale, organise a quiz or set a team challenge — however you take part, you’ll help build a base that keeps two vital lifelines mission-ready.

Every fundraiser helps us create a base designed to save precious time on the ground, so our crews can reach the next local emergency or get a critically ill baby or child to specialist care sooner.

There’s still time to get involved. Register your day and receive your free fundraising pack, including hints and tips, posters, stickers and downloadable decorations.

Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR Weekly Misison Update. 70 missions in seven days 🚁

Between 5–11 October, YLAA crews attended an average of 10 missions a day, responding to a range of emergencies across our regions.

Medical incidents accounted for 39% of call-outs, followed by assaults and road traffic collisions at 16% each, and falls at 9%.

A special thank you to one of our wonderful Doctors, Pete, for sending in this photo.

September was a busy month for the National Children's Air Ambulance 🚁

17 specialist transfers. 22 hospitals. An estimated 33 hours saved.

Our crews and Airdesk team completed 17 specialist transfers for critically ill babies and children, working alongside dedicated Clinical Partner Teams to help young patients access the specialist care they need.

Throughout the month, the service completed six incubator transfers and one specialist ECMO transfer. On nine occasions, a parent was also able to travel alongside their child.

Every transfer represents a child, a family and specialist teams working together when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who supports The Air Ambulance Service and helps make these vital transfers possible. A link to learn more is in the comments.
