β€ΌοΈπŸš¨ Water Mains Upgrade Project – Laffak Road

United Utilities will shortly begin a major project to install approximately 1.7km of new water mains in the Laffak area as part of its BIG North West Upgrade programme.

πŸ“… Start date: Monday 19th October
⏳ Duration: Approximately 6 weeks
πŸ“ Location: Starting on Laffak Road

The investment is designed to improve the reliability and resilience of the local water network, reduce leakage and minimise the risk of future water main bursts.

Temporary traffic management may be required at various stages of the work. Affected residents and businesses will receive advance notice where necessary.

There may be some disruption to residents and road users, but United Utilities and its delivery partner, Network Plus, will work to minimise inconvenience wherever possible.

Residents will receive letters with further information about the works and what to expect.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Policy Announcement πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

I'm pleased to announce that St Helens Borough Council shall not be observing Black History Month.

We don't care if you're black. We don't care if you're asian. The only thing that matters is if you love our country and respect British culture.

Moreover, it's not appropriate for celebrations to centre on one skin tone. To be frank, it's racist and divisive.

Finally, it's a poor use of Officer resources. Taxpayer's money shouldn't be contributing to subversive woke movements.

Your council will always stand up for British culture and will make no apology for it.

Kind regards,
Cllr Dr R. George Woodward
Leader of St Helens Borough Council

The St Helens borough Ward Blitz has arrived in West Park!

Today, our Area Collections and Open Spaces teams have been out clearing alleyways, tackling fly-tipping and cutting back vegetation, with lots more work planned to make the area noticeably better throughout the week... here's just one of the transformations from Day 1😍

The Ward Blitz will see different wards undergo intensive works to improve areas from now until Spring 2027 - but we need your help to tell us where you think needs a clean-up!

If you see issues in your area, please report itπŸ‘‰ sthelens.gov.uk/report-it

The Haresfinch Litter Pickers have been out again this weekend, doing another brilliant job πŸ‘πŸ»

Across their last two litter picks alone, the team have collected more than 25 bags of rubbish, covering a huge number of streets and areas around Haresfinch.

It’s brilliant to see local people giving up their own time to make a difference to the area they live in.

This is exactly the sort of community spirit that makes a difference. No politics, no fuss - just local people putting the time in to make their community better for everyone.

A massive thank you to everyone. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ—‘οΈ

If you’d like to get involved, you can join the group here: Haresfinch Litter Pickers

If there are any other community groups, volunteers or local people doing great work that you think deserve some recognition, please let me know. I’d love to hear about them and help shine a light on the brilliant things happening across our community.

Let’s work together to make our area the best we can. πŸ‘πŸ»
