Sometimes it's about grabbing a hot meal, finding somewhere to sit and catching up with the people you've spent the day working alongside.

A bit of fresh food, a chance to recharge and a few laughs before getting back to it.

It's the little moments like these that help make a gun detachment a team. 💪

🇩🇰 Reserve Recce Strike 🎯

Fire Support Teams (FSTs) from the Regiment recently deployed on exercise PANTHER CYCLONE in Denmark. Here they got to grips with using the Skydio-X10 and ATAK together for the first time, pulling together a potent Recce-Strike complex. The Skydio allowed each team to find targets, whilst the ATAK was effectively used to send target information to the guns. The ATAKs also proved valuable in giving the FSTs wider situational awareness. The FSTs also were able to integrate UAS assets from the infantry companies into their own teams, which were hastily named “company Recce-Strike Teams”.

The exercise was a big milestone for the Regiment, demonstrating our ability to speed up the sensor-decider-effector link and increasing our lethality as a whole.

For our Reserve Gunners, this is what modern artillery training looks like. Combining new technology with specialist skills, adapting to new challenges and working alongside other Army units to develop capabilities that matter.

And the people doing it? Reservists who balance their military commitments with civilian careers and everyday life.

Different backgrounds. Specialist skills. One shared purpose. 💪

🇩🇰 Exercise Panther Cyclone | Denmark

Different cap badges. Different capabilities. One shared mission. 💪

Gunners from 103 Regiment Royal Artillery have returned from Denmark after completing Exercise Panther Cyclone, training alongside fellow Army Reservists from 19th Light Brigade.

Our role? Bringing artillery firepower to the exercise. 💥

While our gun detachments were put through their paces across a series of demanding training serials, our Fire Support Teams (FSTs) worked alongside infantry units, helping to locate targets and coordinate supporting fire.

From moving and deploying guns to integrating different capabilities across the training area, Panther Cyclone was an opportunity to put our skills to the test and strengthen the relationships that make joint training effective.

And for our Reserve Gunners, another chance to train overseas, work with soldiers from across the British Army and experience something well beyond the ordinary weekend.

⏰ Clocks go back tonight.

An extra hour in bed for some. An extra hour of darkness for everyone.

For our Reservists, it doesn’t change much.

Training doesn’t stop when the daylight does. Gun detachments still need to move, communicate and operate effectively, whether it’s broad daylight or pitch black.

Because you don’t get to choose when you might need those skills.

It’s not just where you go. It’s who you go with. ⛰️

One of the best things about Army Reserve life is the people you get to share it with.

During a recent adventurous training weekend, the Battery Sergeant Major and a junior officer from 216 Battery swapped their usual duties for a challenge in the mountains.

Different ranks, different responsibilities, but out on the hillside they’re sharing the same experience.

It’s weekends like these that help you get to know the people you serve alongside, build friendships and make memories that stay with you long after you’ve headed home.
