**What does it mean to share in the sufferings of Christ?**

“...that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings...” — Philippians 3:10

This Monday at Pub Theology we’ll be asking what Christians have meant by the strange and challenging idea of sharing in Christ’s suffering.

Does following Christ inevitably involve suffering? Is this about persecution and sacrifice, or also the ordinary burdens of life — illness, grief, disappointment, self-denial and bearing the burdens of others?

Can suffering ever bring us closer to Christ? What does it mean to find God within suffering without pretending that suffering itself is good? Does Christianity offer an answer to suffering, or something more difficult: a God who enters into it?

We’ll begin with a short introduction and then open the evening to conversation. You certainly don’t have to agree — respectful disagreement is part of Pub Theology.

A little flavour of Sunday evening with Reg Meuross in the candlelit Lady Chapel. 🕯️🎶

An engaging and entertaining performer with a lovely clear voice, superb guitar playing and a wonderful gift for storytelling — both in his songs and in the funny, thoughtful tales between them.

Thank you to Reg, our volunteers and everyone who came along. We hope to welcome you back soon!
