👋 Introducing Councillor Simon Coles 👋

Simon has recently joined Warfield Parish Council, representing St Michaels Ward. Simon was co-opted onto the council at the last Full Council Meeting. He has lived in Quelm Park with his family since 1997.

From Simon:
'I'm keen to contribute something back to the place we've called home for so long. I'm particularly interested in bringing the new Community Hub to life. The construction is in good hands, but turning a building into a thriving community asset is a job for the Parish Council. That's where I hope my experience of running a business, managing budgets and getting projects delivered will be useful.'

“Some will say Liberal Democrats are too nice to get angry. I understand why. We are a party of reasonable people who value evidence and fairness. But we won’t be polite in the face of injustice. When young people can't find work, when families can't find homes and when neighbours are being targeted, the right response is anger. It should be channelled, constructive and determined, but don’t doubt it. We are angry.”

Our parliament candidate Jo Hawley met with Wokingham MP Clive Jones yesterday to discuss common challenges in the area.

We very much appreciate our close working with Wokingham Borough Liberal Democrats and are looking forward to a joint canvassing day in Crowthorne this autumn.
