Some of our Bracknell LibDem volunteers were up in Westminster today to learn more about parliament. A great trip facilitated by Clive Jones MP’s office.

Today Sandhurst Town Council held the annual Armed Forces Day flag raising ceremony. Councillors Nicky Coppins & Leigh Quigg both attended & particularly enjoyed the speech by a Sandhurst Secondary School pupil who gave her perspective & experiences of being a military child, often on the move to new cities, homes & schools. We appreciate the service of all our Forces personnel and that of their families too. Thank you.

“It’s a real privilege to stand here today with residents, veterans, serving personnel and families to mark Armed Forces Week here in Bracknell Forest.

“This week is about recognition, gratitude, and understanding, understanding what service truly means, both to those who serve and to our wider community. The story of our Armed Forces isn’t just found in history books; it lives on in people, in families, and in communities like ours.”

Thank you BFCCA for the People’s Emergency Climate Briefing film screening and discussion this evening. Important and urgent messages, as well as practical steps that we can all take to make a difference.

Good to hear too that Joshua Reynolds MP has signed the parliamentary call for government to take action through a televised national emergency briefing on the threats for climate change and nature loss. Lots of attendees calling on Peter Swallow, MP for Bracknell to do so too.

Tomorrow (11/06/2026) I’ll be meeting online with constituents who were affected by the Peacock Lane industrial fire at the Daler-Rowney site in Bracknell.

If you were affected, and have not yet got in touch, then we have a few slots available.

The meeting will give you the chance to ask questions, give information, and raise concerns that I hope to take away, compile, and put to Bracknell Forest Council and other authorities so that you have more understanding, guidance, and say in how the situation is being responded to and what the outcomes are.

If you want to be heard then email me with the subject line ‘Daler-Rowney Fire 2026’, and I will try my best to book you in.
