Crawick Multiverse Crawick Multiverse, a 55-acre art land in the South of Scotland, was designed by world-renowned land artist Charles Jencks in a former open cast coal mine.

Choosing where to visit in Dumfries and Galloway can be a difficult choice. With stunning castles and gardens, world-famous farm parks and toy shops, award-winning storytellers and tour guides and spectacular outdoor attractions and events on our doorstep there is so much on offer.

Our region is full of committed tourism ambassadors, so we are delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted as a finalist in the Tourism Champion category of Dumfries & Galloway Life Awards this year!

We look forward to celebrating with fellow-finalists from Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate, Dalscone Farm and Mostly Ghostly Tours (Kathleen Cronie - Storyteller) at the awards ceremony at Easterbrook Hall on 6th November.

It will be quite a celebration as it is also the 20th Anniversary of Dumfries & Galloway Life! Congratulations and thank you to everyone at Dumfries & Galloway Life for everything you do to fly the flag for Dumfries and Galloway ❤️

Have you experienced an overnight stay at Crawick Multiverse in your motorhome?

Amazing sunsets, dark skies and occasionally The Northern Lights.

There’s still time to plan a night away this season, so if you fancy a peaceful night in Upper Nithsdale over the next two weeks, pop onto our website and reserve yourself a bay!

Only £10 per van per night!

Don’t forget to book a day pass if you want to enjoy exploring the site during your stay too.

WALK THIS WAY

Whether you’re off school/work this week, live locally or you are on holiday in the area, we invite you to come and enjoy a visit to Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar.

We are a 55-acre artland designed by the late Charles Jencks. There are galaxies and collisions to explore, hills to climb, and stunning views to enjoy.

We advise wearing sturdy shoes or boots and a warm jacket at this time of year.

We have an activity sheet for children (and adults) who want to complete it during their visit and you’ll be given a map on arrival to guide you around the landforms.

Dogs are welcome too and they’ll love it!

Bring a picnic or pick up a cuppa or snacks in The Coalface. We have lovely cafes, hotels and bakers nearby too.

OPEN DAILY from 10am throughout October. Book online in advance or pay at The Coalface on arrival.

DAYTIME ADVENTURES

We’ve had some amazing evening adventures this past week, but these clear, sunny days are also perfect for daytime adventures.

Make the most of these lovely days and come and enjoy time out exploring The Multiverse.

💫 UNDER THE STARS

Another wonderful evening under the stars for our second Upper Nithsdale Dark Sky Experience at Crawick Multiverse last night.

A cold night with amazing clear skies and expert commentary from Freelance Ranger and Dark Sky Ranger, Elizabeth Tindal, Dr Mark Fox-Powell, Senior Lecturer in Astrobiology at The Open University and local photographer, Mike Bolam.

A clear view of The Milky Way and shooting stars, made for a great early evening session followed warming hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows served by Erin and Dane at The Coalface. Late evening guests enjoyed the opportunity to capture their own photographs of the dark skies and to see the site in a different light with UV torches.
