Loads must not move during peak times which are Mon-Friday 0700 – 0930hrs and
Mon – Thursday 1630 – 1900hrs and Fri 1500 – 1900hrs.



No Movements to take place during the hours of darkness unless only using lit Motorways.

CHESHIRE
On 'A' and 'B' class roads:- Between 0730 hrs and 0930 hrs or between 1630 hrs and 1800 hrs, Monday to Friday inclusive.

On Motorways:- Between 0700 hrs and 0930 hrs or between 1530 hrs and 1900 hrs Monday to Thursday inclusive and between 1500 hrs and 1900 hrs on Fridays.


CITY OF LONDON
The movement restrictions in the City of London are that no abnormal load or STGO vehicle can move between the hours of 07:00 to 19:00 hours on a weekday (excluding Bank Holidays).

DERBYSHIRE
Movements should not be undertaken during peak traffic periods (i.e. 7.00 am to 9.30 am and 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday).

Ideally no movement to take place during the hours of darkness, except on motorways and dual carriageways, when the vehicle is equipped with two amber flashing beacons fitted to the rear of the vehicle, one each side, within 305 mm of the extremities, and the vehicle is equipped with a mobile telephone

DEVON AND CORNWALL

Peak Traffic Periods: AIL’s requiring an es**rt should not move between 0730-0900hrs and 1600-1830hrs Monday to Friday.

GREATER MANCHESTER
Current Embargo period is:

Monday to Friday 06:30 – 09:30
Monday to Friday 15:30 – 18:30
(including all weekday public holidays)
This applies to all abnormal loads (irrespective as to whether they require police notification or not, however does not apply to 5 axle (or less) mobile cranes. This embargo is applicable to the entire Greater Manchester area; including all roads and motorways – it does not, however, apply between Junction 24 to 27 of the M6; nor applies to the M58; running both directions.
GWENT


HAMPSHIRE
Our embargos are from 07:00 - 09:30hrs and 16:00 - 18:30hrs each day during rush-hours, on anything other than a motorway. We also have Bank Holiday embargo from 12:00hrs preceding a Bank Holiday weekend and 06:00hrs following a Bank Holiday weekend; this includes Christmas and New Year, as well as Easter weekends, ie this Easter the embargo will be from 12:00hrs Thursday 18th April - 06:00hrs Tuesday 23rd April.


HUMBERSIDE
Be aware that NO MOVEMENT of abnormal loads are permitted within the Humberside Police area between the following times:

Monday to Friday 07:00 and 09:30 and 16:30 and 18:30 hours.


If you intend to travel during the hours of darkness, the Road Vehicle Lighting regulations must be complied with.


KENT


LANCASHIRE


LECIESTERSHIRE
NO MOVEMENT during the hours of darkness in Leicestershire except on Motorways (not the A1 or A42) when the vehicles are correctly lit;
NO MOVEMENT on the M1 Motorway between 3.00pm and 8.00pm southbound on Fridays and Sundays and between the same times on Fridays only northbound;
Avoid moving the load during peak periods on any roads.

In addition, if the load is over 5.2m wide I assess it to ascertain if a further restriction is required, as in no night time movement even on the motorway network.

LINCOLNSHIRE
NO MOVEMENT of abnormal loads is permitted within Lincolnshire Police area between the following times:

Monday to Friday 07:00 – 09:30 and 16:00 – 18:30
No movements during the hours of darkness or in conditions of poor/reduced visibility, except where only the A1 is used (within the Lincolnshire area of responsibility and with prior permission)
MERSEYSIDE
No movement is permitted in Force area during restricted times (0730-0930hrs and 1600-1900hrs) and during hours of darkness on non-motorway routes.

METROPOLITIAN
No movement of police notifiable abnormal loads are permitted within the Metropolitan Police area between the following times:

Monday to Friday 07:00 – 10:00 and 16:00 – 19:00
Saturday 10:00 – 19:00

Additionally – if any part of the route falls within3 miles of Charing Cross Station or any abnormal loads exceeds:

NORFOLK AND SUFFOLK
Movements should avoid the following peak periods:

Monday – Friday 0700-0930HRS
Monday – Friday 1630-1900HRS
Bank Holidays


Movements WILL NOT take place during the hours of darkness in Norfolk or Suffolk, unless that exclusively utilising the A14 or A12 from A14 to Essex border, and with express written permission of Abnormal Loads Officer.

NORTH WALES
Bank Holiday Weekends:
Abnormal loads are not to move from 6am Friday (Thursday at Easter) until 01:00 Tuesday inclusive.

Weekdays:
Movements should not be in transit 8:00am to 9am and 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Every effort should be made to ensure that movements occur at times that minimise public disruption and best ensure road safety.

Hours of Darkness:
Movements during the hours of darkness are prohibited with the exception of the A*5 and A483.


NORTH YORKSHIRE
North Yorkshire do not specify travel times however - All abnormal loads must comply with all road traffic legislation whether being es**rted or not

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
No travel time restrictions currently apply to loads travelling through Northamptonshire.


NORTHUMBRIA
The Road Traffic Act will continue to apply to all abnormal load movements and any attending es**rt vehicles - in particular (but not confined to) driving dangerously, without due care or without due consideration for other road user, and therefore loads should not be moved during peak traffic times (07:30 - 09:00 hours and 16:00 - 17:00 hours) in urban or congested areas.


NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
We don't allow the movement of abnormal loads in Nottinghamshire during peak traffic periods between 7.30am and 9.30am and 4.30pm and 6.30pm and on the M1 motorway between 3pm and 8pm on Fridays and Sundays.

We will generally allow abnormal loads to be moved during the hours of darkness on motorways and the A1, providing the load remains solely on these roads and is lit and signed in accordance with legal requirements.

The movement of abnormal loads on all other roads is NOT permitted during the hours of darkness except with the agreement and permission of the Abnormal Loads Officer first.


No more than 2 loads to travel together


POLICE SCOTLAND
Unless previously agreed, the load must not be oved during peak traffic flows.

What can one say.
New sheriff in the West Midlands is making a big wave.
Been speaking to him this week after a stop that we were ok and was aloud to carry on.
But he is going to crack down and he and his neighbouring countries will be policing their areas.
He has read the rules and is comparing the facts!!!! Watch out lads as he is happy to pull you !!
He is now going back to the rules regarding attendants ! He is now going back to one attendant per truck.
Many this week have been parked up at Stafford and Birmingham waiting for a second attendant to arrive.
This can be a es**rt or a muppet sitting in the cab. So be careful as he is back on Wednesday!!!!

Hello ladies and gentlemen sorry I have not posted for a while but I have been shafted with a van I bought took it for the dreaded mot and failed on a lot of welding that needs doing so for now until January or feb I won’t be able to assist you with any es**rting but I have another van lined up but with Xmas coming first and fast approaching I won’t be purchasing it till January so watch this space after new year.
